Winter weddings are a rare treat for us, especially when the couple has a desire for a snow globe ceremony atop one of the highest points in TC. Well, Saturday didn’t bring us any snow for that ceremony moment, but what the day lacked in snow, it made up for in so much love for our wonderful couple. ❄️

Our friends at @sensationaleventstc decked out the 17th floor with beautiful drape, a lovely chuppah arch and white chair covers to give us that wintery glow, while purple floral and candles down the aisle filled the room as an epic pink sunset adorned the sky as the ceremony was set to begin. Guests were able to have a pre-ceremony cocktail hour to enjoy with H & S before they said “I do” with a special moment for them to witness them signing their handmade Ketubah certificate with Rabbi Josh. H & S made their way up the aisle to the musical stylings of Zeke Clemons from @tcguitarcompany strumming a beautiful version of “A Thousand Years”.

After H smashed the glass to announce their union, guests were able to grab a drink as they made their way downstairs to the Mackinac ballroom where beautiful chandeliers hung over the silver, purple and white decor set on the two king tables and a sweetheart table in between. The @gt_resort staff as well as Scott and team from Northern Michigan DJ were ready to continue celebrating, with a lovely dinner service and delicious desserts. The night was full of dancing and merriment to celebrate H & S, including a quick Hora to open the dance floor. Despite not having a snow filled day, I know that H & S felt the ‘snow globe of love’ for them as they were able to celebrate with their nearest and dearest loved ones. Congratulations to H & S and may you you always continue to find the beautiful moments to share together! 🤍

Event choreography - time lapse of a two hour room flip while 264 guests sipped cocktails, ate pasta, played euchre and enjoyed live music on the patio. Big thanks to @brbsouthhaven for capturing this and for the great teamwork alongside @truer_design @gilmorecatering @beveragespecialists and our gals in a fun transformation last weekend.
When a wedding morning kicks off with the groomsmen gang (of ten + groom) running into Lake Michigan for a refreshing November dip and ends with the bride busting out dance moves onstage while her new husband djs the last hour of their wedding to a packed dance floor, we have to call that day epic. High energy epic.

Of course, thanks to S's naturally hospitable spirit, there was a whole lineup of delightful experiences in between. A soulful witty ceremony framed in a glorious floral arch, a chef station pasta bar, euchre tables and live music for cocktail hour, layers of velvet and visual texture in a cozy romantic vibe under crystal chandeliers for a delicious dinner,, a 16' dessert table with 17 kinds of confectionaries, an amazing band, a late night taco run and the most enthusiastic spirit of revelry all night long.

There was also a moment that captivated the room when J joined the band on keyboard to surprise S with a song she loved and he learned to play just for her. And another moment when S's dad led the guests in a rousing traditional German dance involving hats, drinks and newlyweds on chairs. Unforgettable.

There are so many elements that can make a celebration great but I think two of the most powerful are 1) Couples who intentionally set out to make the experience memorable for their guests and 2) guests who have the time of their lives on a whole-hearted revelry kind of level. S&J and their guests accomplished both on an inspiring level.

Cheers to pulling out all the stops in a fancy barn by the southern shores of Lake Michigan 💃 🥂 and cheers to an incredible vendor team who not only brought the magic but also pulled off flipping the room from ceremony to reception in 2 hours while 264 guests enjoyed the pasta bar.

‘Simply the best’ is the only way I can describe all the feelings from this weekend with M&M. Truly, it was magical. The location, the people, the food and drinks, the weather, and the music all created an epic weekend to share in the love that M&M have for one another. At our full circle coffee date on Monday morning (at the place where we met just over a year ago to talk through their vision) we gushed, we laughed and even teared up a little talking about how wonderful it all was.

The morning of the wedding started off a little rainy, but cooled the forecasted high temp day we thought we’d be having, which delighted us all! The breeze that followed the rain kept Winslow the Willow swaying his beautiful branches in front of the chairs that were set for the ceremony, which M so lovingly described as a hug. Guests arrived to see the beautiful combination of warm, metallic colors worn by the bridal party among the stunning greens surrounding them.

After a beautiful ceremony, guests were invited to share in the celebration of the newlyweds with good food, delicious drinks and wonderful music to dance the night away. The full moon, and a few shooting stars that were witnessed, capped off a spectacular weekend that will live on in our hearts for years to come 💕 to the amazing M&M, may you always share the love and happiness that made this weekend so special.

J+A brought glam to the forest and romance to the beach on Saturday in a symphony of textures that made my heart sing. Velvet, lace, gold and candlelight mixed with ferns, birch branches, Spanish moss and antlers in a graceful composition that highlighted the luxurious nature of a northern Michigan forest. It was visually sublime, right down to the plates of herbed butter and the tones of green with flecks of gold on that cake by the cedar tree. Since sneak peek photos from @timelessmediaproductions are in my inbox already, this reel of cell phone snaps is an ode to the scene inspired by a couple we adore and will share snaps of tomorrow 💕. When a third of the guest list is kids and the couple has a stylish sense of flair, we set a dramatic textural table in jewel tones and a kid's version of the same! Love the creative enthusiasm in this one and especially the joyful moments surrounding these tables on Thursday 💕.

Congrats to A&R, one of the most intentional and authentic couples we know. From a forest ceremony with a fog entrance for the groom to the mocktail bar with fancy glassware to the two table takes on jewel tones to lawn games and a VW photobus van under the windmill by the pond, this soiree was abundant in energy, laughter and dance moves. It was a series of deeply felt emotion and light-hearted revelry - a special soiree that we were honored and inspired to be part of for a fun family from Las Vegas.
K&A exchanged rings Saturday on an overlook that commands one of the best views of Grand Traverse Bay in the county. From the first turn onto an idyllic winding entrance thru cherry orchards, continuing past rolling hills of grapevines, and emerging into a vista of blue water over forested terrain, the place is simply a dream. On Saturday, the weather was also a sunny balmy dream with a breeze gentle enough to leave the ceremony candles lit.

K&A brought the kind of revelry to this space that highlighted the dream. The design aesthetic was romantic, intentionally simple, yet subtly layered in detail. The flow of the evening gave time for lingering conversations over dinner, cigars and seltzers on the lawn around cocktail tables as the sun dipped below the horizon, and hearty dance moves surrounded by the light of three hundred candles under the tent while DJ Will rocked the soundboard.

It was the kind of celebration that guests relaxed into and connected over. It was the kind of people who have a history of enjoying each other's company and of celebrating each other beautifully.

What struck me most as I reflected on this soiree is the way that the experience reflected K&A. They are intentionally uncomplicated, un-dramatic, "easy like Sunday morning" and classic like vanilla ice cream. Then again, like their "simple" aesthetic with subtle layers of design and like the evening that moved with grace from layer to layer of experience and like our locally famous Moomer's vanilla ice cream, there is something more than simple in K&A. There is a beautiful complexity, a deep passion, a steadfast kind of friendship that toasts bore witness to, and that the revelry itself revealed.

Northern Michigan summer is lake time and laughter around a bonfire. Sharing that experience with your favorite people is so soul-filling that we could probably just call E&D's weekend a wrap after last night EXCEPT E's parents restored an 1881 barn on the family farm and D's mom made some pretty remarkable macrame chandeliers so we'll just be back at the farm today, taking in some more pretty rental deliveries and tying chair pads before rehearsal kicks off in the orchard.
