Just had to share....The home I live in now was built in 1954. I am having cosmetic work done on the outside and then will move to the inside. My daughter who is 35 told me that I really need to have two of my bathrooms and my kitchen redone. I agreed that the master bath definitely needs it and the kitchen needs some work. However, one of the baths has the original tile floor and wall tile and tub.....peach with a rust trim on the walls and peach with brown on the floor and white tub with shower....all of which I love and is in excellent condition. She says it should all be ripped out and updated! I told her I was on this site with almost 2 million people and they would all die if I did that. She said, "WELL, they must all be really old people!" LOL! She loves antiques and MCM furniture, but somewhere I went wrong raising her! 🤣 EDIT! Added pix! The towels are not pinkish as the look in the pix and also use white and brown towels. Thought the sink is very large, thinking of putting a vanity in for storage. The original light over the sink will stay as will the mirrored medicine cabinet. The tile will NOT be ripped out! May put a roman shade over the top of the window to replace the blind for anyone that wants privacy though there are no neighbors that can see in. Kitty comes and goes, as does her brother and the dog!

It is fish fly season here in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. These are the dullest and most pointless creature to ever exist. Their lifespan after hatching is from 30 minutes - 48 hours. They cause havoc on beach communities here for a short period in the summer. Their carcasses make the roads so slick, you’d be brave to ride a motorcycle.

I bought this shower head a year or two ago because it was marketed as a fantastic alternative to my 'normal' shower head.

However, I can't remember what the benefits of it are and what it does differently. Have I been tricked into parting with my money? Does it have any benefits? Am I on trend as far as shower heads go?

Hello Dull friends! I kept hearing about Chicken Salt so I decided to Amazon some. I've heard it's a staple on chips/fries in Australia. What else is it good on? I like pretty much every type of cuisine.

Bananas aren't looking so hot. I'd like to say they'll be made into banana bread but it would be a lie, they'll probably end up in the compost at this point. 😕

Staying in an Airbnb and noticed the tumble dryer is mounted on the wall upside down. Seems to work fine. Is this common practice with these appliances? I don’t have one so has never been an issue for me personally.
The top loader washing machine and the rice cooker can be seen, both the right way up. There is an upside down cockroach under the table.

Finally finished this beast of a puzzle for my Mum. I never thought I could have such strong feelings about a puzzle, but I HATED doing this one. It's not even finished, eagle eyed people might notice it's missing two pieces 😑 Now I just need to glue it, easily the most fun part of the whole thing. Banana for scale, size 5 1/2 feet. *edit* Only missing one piece! I found one piece when I was putting the sorting pots away, wasn't the edge piece unfortunately ☹️

Please tell me there is at least one other person that takes the time to separate all the border pieces from the rest of the pieces only to put the border together to see there is one piece that jumped into the other side of the box to be with its dull friends. I'm off to search again piece by piece hoping the one I pick up is THE one until I start thinking about something, get distracted with that thought and have to start a different pile of pieces in case I put THE piece back in with the pieces I just sat down during my thoughts. This happens every time I do a puzzle. I think I was cursed by Jigsaw 😂

This particular piece of utensil has been in the family for over 30 years. Belonged to my grandfather, yet never saw him or anyone else in the family ever use it.

Gets tossed around, always in the way yet never disposed of. Google was no help, so maybe some of you can enlighten my dull fascination of wanting to put it to good use.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Forget the bananas. Hubby and I went on a DOUGHNUT SHOP TOUR for 6 hours today ~ so junk-snacking is where it’s at.

UPDATE FROM SATURDAY: I’ve had a peek under the art and it’s concealing a large electrical box!

When we travel for getting our daughter to/from college, we have a little bed and breakfast we like. It’s small, plain, and simple, very clean - in short, perfect for us. There’s one piece of art, on the only wall truly big enough to accommodate it, but they’ve shoved it into the corner instead of centering it between the corner and bar/barstools. What does everyone think about this? Am I the odd one out for feeling like this is misplaced? Bunch of bananas because I’m trying to eat healthfully instead of junk-snacking my way through this trip. I’ve been reading the Narnia series to my 6 year old son as I’ve been going I’ve found some of the old English a slog. Magicians Nephew was practically illegible in parts!

I was saying this to family members who also grew up with these books and/or read them to me! My argument is the series would benefit from a rewrite to update the English. Most disagree with me but then they are not reading them today.

Anyway tonight while reading voyage of the dawn treader to my son this word comes up. Little did I know it previously has more than one meaning.

I skipped it anyway to avoid awkward questions of worse still usage of the word!

So when my wife are out and about one of our favourite things is dog watching and their humans who sometimes resemble them. We love dogs but currently don't have one. My wife is an expert at recognising different breeds. But our particularly dull joy is listening out for inappropriate dog names. So far our favourite inappropriate dog names are Nigel and Neil. Lets hear your dogs names.

Before marrying a CPA, I was a vivacious extrovert, but 33 years of his OCD record keeping has made me as dull as he is. Every aspect of our lives is on a spreadsheet - not just the to-be-expected alphabetized spice rack with expiry dates. This man can tell you the gas mileage of his first lawn tractor, the difference between this and last March’s electric bill (and why), his average monthly blood pressure and body mass index since 1992. Every boring household item is labeled with purchase date, cost, and other relevant data to compare with the previous like item - and to supply fuel for his quiet, ongoing rant against shrinkflation. Did I mention hubby is also the king of malapropism? These two examples from last night, said to rare company, are the kind of things that keep me humble: “Could I use your thongs to take the chicken off the grill?” And then, “Who would want to see a movie about King Kong vs Gonzaga?” Gotta love my dullster.

I farm, so I have most fresh food on hand, that we grow ourselves. Unless my Chickens and Goats destroy it first. Or whatever wants a meal.

I buy butter and cheese on Special, and freeze it. Or buy at my Local Farmer's Market.

Polonie/Poloni/Polony/Bologna is pretty much the same thing. Whatever is left over, when all the good cuts of meat is removed. The secret is not to overwhelm it with organ meat. Which some South African Brands are very guilty of.

Absolutely everything goes in there.

I have dumpster-dived before. For Cigarette butts. When our dishonoured Government decided to ban Ci******es for what felt like 5 years.

I've been told pulling weeds is a very dull activity. But after getting this full root out, I can't stop trying to best it. I even started pulling dandelions from other people's yards because "They had potential." Does anyone else enjoy trying to get the whole root while pulling weeds or should I be auditioned for, "My strange addiction?"

With pancake day looming... what do you call this style of pancake where you live? We call them flapjacks or crumpets in South Africa. Pancakes to me are thick crepes. When living in the UK years back I was told we were having flapjacks for 11ses and was excited until they brought out crunchies which are very boring imo

Some may this post is far from dull but I need to solve a family dispute.

Each year I serve pancakes with sausage and beans. Have done for years and years. This year we were feeling extra and added fried eggs because why the hell not. It’s only pancake day once a year. Let’s live a little.
My in laws think that this is an abomination.
Am I weird? Is this not a normal occurance in households across the uk on pancake day?
(They also don’t believe in eating anything but a roast dinner on a Sunday but that’s another argument for another day)

Edit - lots of you are assuming this is a breakfast. It is NOT a breakfast…. It’s actually our evening meal 🙈 Does that make it even more of an abomination?

As a high school English teacher, correct punctuation isn’t dull to me. But apparently I’m in the minority these days! Check out the times this store is (seemingly? allegedly? unreliably?) open for business.

No banana, but that IS my hand holding a small cup of 1/2 chocolate chip cookie dough, 1/2 mint chocolate chip water ice — it’s unseasonably warm here and feels more like summer than spring!
