One of my favorite parts of & wedding was how they handled their spotlight dances 🤍

They started with a few moments just for Hailey and her dad, then invited ALL the dads and daughters to join them on the dance floor. The same thing happened with Ryan and his mom, and later the bride and groom's dance— and every couple was invited to join them on the dance floor. Each dance began as a single moment and grew into something shared with everyone.

As I watched different pairs make their way to the dance floor, it was fun to see the different relationships and the generations that were represented in that event.

As I captured photo after photo, it occurred to me that weddings may center on two people, but they also sit at the crossroads of so many stories, experiences, and relationships that shape the couple along the way. Watching all of that come together on the dance floor was really special. .w.quinn

I’ve always loved black and white photography. I learned to love it because of who is one of my dear friends and who mentored me early on in my career. She is an absolute master when it comes to the art of black and white... can we call it poetry? Because I feel like it's a little more than just a photo...

You see, when you remove color, it's like you minimize distraction.. What’s remains is emotion, contrast, light, and story. It asks you to feel the image instead of just seeing it.

Black and white photography is my favorite way to produce candid images, which IMHO are some of the most important documented on a wedding day.

They're genuine, honest, raw and quietly powerful.

If you were to ask me which part of my wedding day is my favorite to shoot, "first looks" would be 100% at the top of my list. I love the anticipation and the giddiness. I love the emotional tension that just seems to spill out.. sometimes it's in tears, ear to ear smiles or laughter.

It’s more than fiancés seeing each other for the first time in their fancy wedding clothes.

It’s the moment when possibility meets reality.
When someday meets today.
And it feels less like a reveal and more like a becoming.
Love looks a little bit different in this moment.

It's quite beautiful.

I love documenting first looks because they’re real in the quietest way. There's no audience or entertaining. It's joyful and simple.

It’s an honor to witness them, and an even greater honor to preserve and document them.
