Big News from the Barnyard
Barnyard Discoveries/Peoria has new owners! Thanks and congratulations to Tim and Elizabeth Nichols and their daughters Allie and Reagan as they take over management of the Central Illinois territory sharing farm education and entertainment primarily in the Peoria/Bloomington area. Watch for their new ideas and fresh approach as they focus on community events, birthday parties, school visits, company picnics and more. I am thankful I have shavings scattered all over my house it means we have livestock in the barn.
I am thankful for the walks to the barn it means they have a place to learn and grow.
I am thankful I have to yell multiple times for them to come inside it means they want to finish their chores.
I am thankful we have manure to scoop it means we have livestock to take care of.
I am thankful supper never goes as planned it means they prioritize tending to livestock ahead of their own needs.
I am thankful I have a feed bill to pay it means conception rates were good.
I am thankful for the multiple runs to the store for soap, wire or whatever random things they may need it means the barn is in full function.
I am thankful I have to pay a vet to make a health paper it means we get to go to a show.
I am thankful for the thousands of miles we put on a truck on the way to shows it provides us time for meaningful conversations that we may have never had.
I am thankful we are exhausted because it means we are able to work hard and pursue our passion.
I am thankful for the chaos that is our life it means we are busy doing what we love, together, as a family...in the barn.

Wake the kids and call the neighbors, we're loading the trailer for a couple fun filled events in Peoria this weekend. Come see the Barnyard Team at Hy-Vee Grand Prairie Saturday from 11 till 2. And Sunday there will be lots of fun activities going on with the Barnyard Crew at the Lakeview branch of the Peoria Public Library from 1:30 to 3:30.
