My name is Sandy Kalnasy, and I have been a wife and mom for over 40 years. I home schooled my kids and loved every minute of it.... well, almost every minute. Once the kids all graduated, I was left with an empty and very lonely house. I took a myriad of classes and volunteered for my favorite charities, but needed something more. One day, a friend invited me to go with her to a class on face pai

nting. This sounded like fun and we could paint the kids at church during VBS. Little did I know this little adventure was going to quickly become a BIG adventure! I instantly fell in love with our instructor and she has become one of my dearest friends. And I fell in love with the smiles - Those beautiful, pure and totally enchanting smiles. Within a few months I was painting at Mardi Gras, then the Red River Revel and I haven't looked back. This gift from God has given me great joy and it's the smiles on children and adults alike that keep me painting. I'm not a spring chicken any more, so I do have to limit the number of hours that I book per week. But, If I am available, I would love to quote your event. I promise you will love the smiles, too! This page is dedicated to sharing that adventure with you and to thank all the wonderful people who have allowed me to paint on their smiling faces.... You are my Sunshine!

Becky, joined me at Rockets over the Red, tonight. It was one of the best years ever. There was a huge turnout to celebrate the kickoff to the Christmas season. There was the tree lighting, photos with Santa, Red River Bridge light show, fireworks and an amazing drone show. We all had too much fun!

Soooo, I attended a wonderful private fall festival with a great bunch of kiddos and their fun parents. I could show you all the beautiful babies, but this little man stole my heart. His personality was 3 times bigger than his body and he just could not hold it all. LOL I'm not sure how we even managed to get him painted, he was just so excited; talking and spinning in the chair the whole time. 🤣 Charm just oozed out of this cutie. And when I asked him for a photo... This!! ❤️🎨

The Chick-fil-A Bossier City hosted the most amazing Mother/Son Date night. The safari themed event was decorated so cute and the boys were even introduced to a live python from Steve's Snaketuary. 👀🐉
Most of the little men chose tigers, elephants, or snakes for their face painting designs and a few of the employees jumped in line, as well. I'm really impressed with Chick-fil-a for hosting such a great community event. Thanks for including me, Hannah, I enjoyed going on safari with y'all.

I helped a whole flock of birds, get into character, this morning. Mrs. Viser's music class presented, "Freddy the Frog and the Bayou Jazz". It's an adorable musical featuring the sounds of jazz instruments with tigers, mudbugs, gators and seagulls and teaching lessons in friendship and cooperation. Yes! Of course, I stayed to watch the production! The kiddos were great and every parent there had a huge smile on their face. ❤️

Everyone enjoys the experience of face painting, so much that they often want their under 3 children to get involved, too. However, due to manufacturing recommendations and insurance requirements, I am not able to accommodate those requests. I do paint on little hands, if older than 18 months, and it is actually a more satisfying experience for the little ones. They get to watch the process and proudly show their art to family members and friends.
Note: Many little ones do NOT want to participate and that's ok. I will never paint on a child being forced or crying. Maybe next year. We all want it to be happy and fun for them.

It was all hands on deck for LSU Oshner's employees appreciation party! Becky, Evelyn and myself teamed up with Angie of Faces Alive Face Painting for a fun and relaxing adult event. We met some of the sweetest ladies around and throughly enjoyed being their face painting artists for the day.

I have a fun story from Cypress Baptist church fall festival. A sweet young lady sat in my chair and held up her phone with a photo of me painting the spider below.
