Crockett Mills Community Center Alumni Association, Inc.

Hello,

We hope this letter finds you well, that you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2025 will bless you and your family in this new year! On December 17, 2024, the Crockett Mills Community Center had their annual board meeting. Officers for the board were elected and are as follows:

Wesley Tucker, President
Desta Taylor, Vice-President
Camille Hutchison, Treasurer
Hannah Holmberg, Secretary
Other board members include:
Jeanette Hutchison
Christina Buckingham
Chris Rice
Nicky Burgess
Jaida Ward

A motion was made to change the monthly board meetings from every third Tuesday to the first Sunday of every month. We will meet at 5:00 pm during the fall/winter months and at 7:00 pm during the spring/summer months.

Annual membership dues are $40.00 per family or household and are good each calendar year. (January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025)

Your membership dues help the community center pay for basic electric, water, and gas utilities as well the building and grounds upkeep.

Within 2024, we were able to bring back the country and western dances you may remember! The board has worked hard to complete a stage for the bands who play for these dances. The facility was rented out approximately 40 times during 2024 for numerous occasions such as birthday parties, a wedding reception, baby showers and gender reveals, as well as benefits for those in need. We also hosted a community-wide Easter Egg Hunt as well as a Trunk-or-Treat with many churches and people from the community participating.

We are proud to say that the 38th Annual West Tennessee Cotton Festival was a huge success this past year. Events included the Miss Cotton Festival Pageant, Family Fun Night where we played Bingo and Rook and had a Loaded Baked Potato bar, a kiddie tractor pull that was enjoyed by all ages, a Truck and Tractor Pull presented by the Mid-South Pullers Association, a country and western dance, our beloved Arts and Crafts Show as well as an Auto and Car Show. Planning is already in the works and we look forward to this year’s events!

We have made several upgrades to the facility and grounds this past year! Fans were installed under the pavilion as well as lights hung around the outside pavilion in order to make a more pleasant environment during the summer months. Portable restrooms were installed around the grounds. Beautiful windows were also installed within the lobby that overlook the pavilion and playground area. We have more ideas for improvements and upgrades that we would like to complete this year!

All of this would not be made possible without the support from our local community and faithful alumni! We invite you to any of our events. Follow our page “Crockett Mills Community Center” to see any upgrades and improvements we have made as well as any event information posted throughout the year! We are proud to be able to keep the doors of the Crockett Mills Community Center open and to bring our community of Crockett Mills and beyond together.

For rental and pricing information for the community center, you may call or text
Camille Hutchison at 731-414-3423 or Hannah Holmberg at 731-345-9063.

All bookings for benefits and fundraisers will be a $150.00 fee.

Again, we would like to thank you for your continued support in helping keep the community center active and well maintained and look forward to what this year has to bring.

Respectfully,

Crockett Mills Community Center Board of Directors
