September, you were SOMETHING!

Three weddings and oral surgery, all within the month.

It’s hard to believe there are only two more LJE weddings left in 2025 — a year that’s been equal parts beautiful, busy, and full of the kind of love stories that remind me why I do what I do.

Grateful for every couple who’s trusted me with their day, every vendor who’s made it magic, and every quiet moment that’s reminded me to take a breath (or a soft food break).

Here’s to fall, the final stretch - I’ll never stop being amazed at what can happen in a single season.

I’m endlessly grateful for the talented, creative, and kindhearted vendors I get to collaborate with — the florists who bring visions to life, the photographers who capture every emotion, the caterers who make the celebration taste as good as it feels, and the countless pros who make the magic happen behind the scenes.

A wedding planner’s role goes far beyond logistics. It’s about connection — knowing who to call, trusting how they’ll show up, and building relationships that make the entire experience seamless for our couples.

Your guests may forget the exact color of the flowers, but they’ll never forget how they felt.

For B & T, that meant taking the time to write handwritten notes to every single guest. A personal message served as their es**rt card, quiet, thoughtful way to say thank you and let people know how much they matter.

Those little gestures don’t just fill a space with pretty details. They fill a room with warmth, connection, and the kind of love that lingers long after the day is over.

This week K & M celebrate their second anniversary, and I can’t help but think back to their venue search — one of my favorite parts of planning.

When we first met, they were struggling to find a space that really felt like them. A mutual friend connected us, and during our very first conversation M said they wanted something “weird.” I thought — I’m in.

We toured a few non-traditional spots before I suggested my wild card: . On paper, it was everything they swore they didn’t want. But the second we walked through the gardens, past the old brick mansion, with that wide-open lawn ready for a tent, something shifted. M’s whole body language changed. It just felt like home. Before I even made it back to my own house, I had a text waiting for me: We’ve found our venue.

That’s what I love about venue searches. They’re not just about capacity charts or floor plans. They’re about watching for that moment when it clicks, when a couple can suddenly see themselves there. The Bradley Estate, with its historic home, gardens, and grounds, has a way of doing just that.

Happy Friday!

It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself, so hello — I’m Kelly, the face behind LeslieJames Events. My path started in corporate finance, and while it took a while, I realized that what lights me up most is creating meaningful celebrations for couples and families.

I named my company after my parents, Leslie and James, because family and legacy are at the heart of everything I do. My mom passed away when I was a teenager, but the love my parents shared continues to shape me. Every wedding I plan is about more than logistics or design. It is about honoring love stories, cherishing the people who matter most, and creating memories that last well beyond the day itself.

Since starting LJE in 2018, it has been a joy-filled journey — seven years of incredible celebrations, and now stepping into my 8th wedding season. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing couples who trust me with their most important moments and talented vendor partners who bring so much creativity and heart to the work we do together. I am humbled and grateful for this community.

Which is why it feels extra special to share some exciting news… LeslieJames Events has been nominated for Best of North Shore Wedding Awards - Planner! Woo hoo! This recognition belongs to the couples and vendors who make this work possible, it literally takes a village and I would be so grateful for your vote.

And with 2026 already nearly fully booked, I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

Two years ago, L & DB planned to celebrate under a tent — until Hurricane Lee decided to make things interesting.

In the end, Lee wasn’t nearly as fierce as predicted. We shifted plans, reimagined the day, and leaned into what was possible instead of what wasn’t. And then, almost as if to reward the resilience, the sky gave us a cotton-candy sunset that felt like pure magic.

The celebration may have looked different than what we first pictured, but it was every bit as joyful, heartfelt, and unforgettable as they dreamed. Proof that sometimes the most meaningful memories come not from the perfect plan, but from embracing the unexpected.

The teasers are here and A & S's wedding last weekend was one for the books. Torrential downpours and fierce storms swept through the day, yet our couple was nothing but a delight—trusting their vendor team completely and embracing every moment.

Photos were captured outdoors before the skies opened, vows were exchanged under the safety of a tent during the height of the storm, and, as if on cue, the rain cleared just in time for dancing beneath the stars in the courtyard.

They say a “wet knot is harder to untie,” and this day was the perfect reminder that love—and a little trust—always shines through.
