Being able to live in a small town in the beautiful mountains of Idaho is such a wonderful part of our lives. It’s the same town of only 1,001 people that we found each other. Being head over heels in love and valuing marriage so much has given us such a love for, well, LOVE! Yes, we know that sounds cheesy! We simply love having the privilege of capturing forever in photographs the day our couple

s make a commitment of love to one another. There is something incredibly sacred about what we are blessed to do as photographers. We do not take it lightly. We take such delight in investing in our couples before, during and after their wedding. We are entrusted to forever capture in time the love between two people becoming one. That is something to be celebrated and documented.

Marriage Tip Monday

Put the phones away!

We are guilty of not being perfect at this! However, the amount of time that those devices can steal from us is really scary! The mindless scrolling, especially at night can steal moments of meaningful connection with your spouse.

Now, this isn't to make anyone feel guilty! We have all given more time to our phones that we intend. But it doesn't have to always be that way!

You will sleep better, connect better and relax better when the phone is not in your bedroom.

Who's ready for a 7 day challenge of keeping the phone out of the bedroom? Are you in? Let's do it and commit to more meaningful connections with our spouse! Let's also go buy a old school alarm clock so that we can wake up on time without needing our phone!

Happy Friday, Friends!

Well, here we go!! Today marks the official start to our 2022 wedding season kicking off! We have a fun engagement session this evening with two incredible people! Then tomorrow we are headed to Boise to document a special engagement party!

This wedding season is by far the craziest so far! With 26+ weddings with so many amazing Cimbalik Couples, it will be an unforgettable season!! We are excited to love and serve each couple!

Words can't express how grateful we are to do what we love, alongside who we love, for people we love! It's a win-win-win!

Let's talk about posing! If you take a little scroll through our grid you may noticed that there aren't many, if any, traditionally posed portraits.

Now, moms and grandmas always love a good traditional photo to put on the mantel. We totally get that and know how important that is! We definitely still capture a few of those more traditional photos.

But when it comes to posing, our goal is to set you up in a location with incredible light and get you into a "core" pose. Then the magic happens. We give you different prompts to allow your uniquely, beautiful relationship and chemistry shine through.

We definitely still give you direction in posing but our goal is to make that captured moment look like it happened organically!

Good Evening Friends!

This is just a reminder to all those brides-to-be to reach out in unison to your photographer and your preferred venue to make sure that you can choose a date that is available for both parties.

Many venues open dates up 12-14 months in advance. As prime dates become available make sure you are also reaching out to your favorite photographer as well. Also, if you are set on any vendor that is only able to one wedding a day, like some florists, DJ's, planners, or hair and makeup artists, we highly recommend booking them out early as well. With 2022 being so busy we expect to see that overflow into 2023 and 2024.

For us we are quickly approaching the official start to our wedding season and have already begun booking prime 2023 dates. We are so excited to serve all our 2022 couples and can't wait to meet couples saying "I Do" in 2023.

Marriage Tip Monday!

Here are our top three marriage books that have given us incredible tools as we navigate marriage together!

1. The Five Love Languages
This has become a pretty well know book over the years and we love reading it every few years to remind ourselves how important it is to love one another in their love language!

2. Love and Respect
Ever gotten in the "crazy cycle" where he might be acting unloving towards you and in response you act in a disrespectful way and so on and so on? As men and women we each need different thing and this book enlightens on how to fill those needs with biblical principles.

3. Total Money Makeover
This isn't actually a marriage book but it is about money which tends to be the thing that cause the most strife in marriages. Getting on the same page with finances is HUGE for your marriage. We took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University while we were dating and it was such a blessing to start marriage off on the same page with money!

Let's talk about getting pictures of invitation suites! You invitation is the first wedding detail you will create. It's often the detail that's the easiest to forget to bring on your wedding day. But we love how it helps to tell your wedding story from beginning to end.

A few quick tips, if using a calligrapher have them address one to your wedding venue or another address of choice for pictures. If posted online you may prefer not to have your actual address on the envelope.

Another tip is to bring two of any paper piece that is double sided. This way I can photograph both sides in one image. This will also give the illusion of a biggest invite suite.

Don't forget to bring an envelope. Two if you have an envelope liner and calligraphy on the front!

Thank goodness I FINALLY decided to start posting black and white photos! they provide such a classic and timeless feel.

I just love how they automatically focus your eye on the emotion of the image.

Don't get me wrong, we LOVE color around here but we just had to start giving more love to some black and white images too!

💕Marriage Tip Monday💕

Never stop holding hands!

Holding hands has always been such a special and sweet part of our relationship. It is a small point of connection that is so meaningful and special. It's a way to say, without words, "I love you, I am not going anywhere and you are special to me."

There is not much that is sweeter than when we see older couples showing their affection and love to one another through holding hands. We always look at each other and say how someday we will be like those couples. Older, greyer and still in love!

But that "old love" doesn't just happen. It is created. It is cultivated. It is fought for. We heard it said once that love doesn't become real love until the time you don't "feel" love but choose to love anyway. Because love isn't just a feeling it's an action. Choosing love over and over helps to create that deep love that comes with time and intentionality.

So today, reach over and grab your spouse's hand as a simple but sweet way to say, "I love you".

We love it when our couples are able to take a private moment to really soak in the beauty of their wedding day together.

Often times the wedding day can feel rushed and chaotic but creating margin in the day for meaningful moments will allow you to be more present and really soak in all the wonder that takes place on your wedding day.

Marriage Tip Monday!

Never stop dating! This is so important for as you get further along in your relationship. It can be easy to forget to continue to pursue and invest in one another.

Here's the thing! We all continue to grow and change as we get older and what a shame it would be if one day you look over and don't even recognize or know your spouse the way you did when you were first dating?

Does it take work? Sure! Every important thing does. It takes intentionality. The neat thing is it doesn't have to be a burden! Dates can be light and fun! Or maybe deep and romantic. The important thing is consistency and communication!

We strive for a weekly date night but it doesn't always happen. And that's okay! Also, we need some fresh ideas. What are your favorite date night ideas?
