“I just like to support my friends in any way I can. Sometimes it can't always be a competition! We should be lifting each other.” ~Jordan Fontana

1. What is your full name? (Jordan “Mamaluke” Fontana) correct?
JORDAN-
“Hello, Yes my actual name is Jordon Fontana. The Mamaluke thing is an inside joke due to me and a couple friends of mines love for wrestling haha.”

2. Will you please give me a list your current bands as well as previous ones?
JORDAN-
“I have 2 current original projects. One of them Is called Burrito Bowel which I play drums in and the other I can't really speak on to much at the moment but it'll be worth the wait I can assure you! Some bands I used to play in I can't name them all because my memory is not the best haha but the top 5 I can think of off hand is Sneeze66, Aegresco, Aids Cannon, Coronary Thrombosis and as of recently it was Immortal Suffering.”

GETTING AQUATINTED:
Tyler-
“I moved to DFW from upstate New York when I was 12. Grew up in DFW until this year I moved to Abilene, Texas. Even though I live in Abilene I will always consider DFW my home. When I was in middle school I started playing trombone in band all the way up to high school. I eventually wanted to start a band so I got a bass and started jamming. I also learned to play drums along the way. I'm not good but I intend to get better. When I was younger my passion was just to write and play music. Now it's more geared towards living really and being comfortable. I still I have a desire for music but I find working comes first. In my 20s was my peek I think when MSME was touring a lot but id like to think the better days will happen still. Honestly I don't jam alot of metal these days. I love Darkwave like Cold Cave and Depeche Mode. I also listen to a lot of rap. Lol onstage I'm a different person. I'm more outlandish and aggressive. I also try to portray complete crunkness. Maybe cause I'm an enthusiast. Lol”

EMPTY SHELL:
“I feel our newest recording are the best. Then work your way back. The newer recordings are way better.”

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
“To all the musicians. Just write what you like and f**k everyone else. Also focus just as much time on an online presence as the time writing. Don't be afraid in investing into your band. It will pay off.”

“To all my followers thanks for following me and chilling with me. Love yall!”’

Thank you Mr. Berry!! Stay brutal!!

Empty Shell at Reno’s Chop Shop

“I do not try and portray a character when I play live, I just try and be me.” -Tom Saldaña

INFLUENTIAL IMPACTS:
James Hetfield, Tony Loimi, Jimmy Page, Pat O’Brien, Stevie Ray Vaughan

Tom was born on Dia de los Santos, one Nov 1st, in the Texas city of McAllen. Tom later moved to DFW in the summer of 1999 for school. At around the age of 10 was when Tom first received a nylon acoustic guitar. Tom’s first electric was strat copy he bought off a friend for $100. He has now been playing a Fender Super Strats ever since. Currently, Tom plays a Bass for Flasks N’ Flannels and Guitar for Empty Shell. Growing up for Tom was straight 80’s hair metal and Head Bangers Ball. Some of Tom’s earlier heroes were CeCe Devil, Warren DeMartini, Richie Sambora, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes, Angus Young, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet. Then working your way back in time was also Hendrix, Tony Loimi, Jimmy Page, Ace Frehley. After the hair metal days it’s Dino Cazares, Jeff Hannemen, Jessie Pintado, Dime, Steph Carpenter, and Pat O’Brien. Another form of meditation for Tom outside of metal would be 2pac, Dr Dre, Above the Law, Mobb Deep and Wu Tang.

TOM-
“I can’t escape KPOP due to my daughters always jamming it. It’s grown on me haha.”

NOW LET’S JUMP DEEPER INTO THIS PIT WITH TOM:

TOM-
“I also had a deep admiration for Stevie Ray Vaughan. My first exposer to his music was when Stevie made a cameo in the movie “Back to the Beach” where he played Pipeline with Dick Dale. I also love anything that Nile Rogers does, can’t get enough of it. The mix of blues, surf rock, and metal are the building blocks of my style and sound. I play through an EVH 5150III 100w Stealth head and matching 4X12 5150III cabs.”

“I don’t consider music for me as a career. I’m just having fun playing guitar with my family in Ivan and Isaak, and with my other brothers from another mother, Tyler and Chad. We’ve been fortunate to have been playing for about 10 years and have opened up some pretty bad ass shows like Brujeria, Deicide, Goatwhore, and Decrepit Birth. This 3 song EP is a good indicator of what’s to come.”

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
“Do what you love with like-minded people and the pieces will start to fit.”

THANKS TOM!! See you Saturday at Reno’s. Keep kicking ass! Thanks everyone for reading!

“I love Grupo Frontera. Listening to them makes me happy, lol’” ~Ivan Limon

CONVERSANT:
Ivan has been known since the earlier 2000’s for his kick ass beats and fast foot work on drums with his previous bands INTERMENT, Comorbidity, Oblivous Obscurity, and Code of Silence. Let it be known that Ivan actually grew up with a guitar in hand. Both brother and dad were D.J’s and Ivan wanted to play an instrument, so at the age of 14, his brother gifted him a guitar from a pawn shop. Ivan played guitar until the age of 28 when both he and family member, Tom Saldaña, got bored with both being on guitar. Ivan then bought his first drum kit and from there began the earlier Empty Shell 2011 days.

IVAN-
“I play drums now, and I love everything Pearl Drums. Right now, I play a Master Maple kit w green sparkles that I love.”

Outside of the metal music genre, Ivan also enjoys bands that make him happy like the American regional Mexican band, Grupo Frontera. Ivan is originally from the City of El Paso, Texas bordering Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He moved to Dallas just two days after his graduation in search of like minded people.

IVAN-
“Pffft hahahha yeah ok, but yeah, I also wanted to follow my girl here. She had moved here a couple of years prior to me, and now we're married and have been for 24 years almost. Those are my main reasons for leaving El Paso, Texas and all of my familia behind.”

DEVELOPING IMPACTS:
Na**lm Death, Cannibal Co**se, Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Vicente Fernandez, Metallica

IVAN-
“My influences are all over the place. Death metal has been Na**lm Death and Cannibal, they're both great. Cattle Decapitation was definitely a big inspiration, but more recently, Suffocation is my go-to for drum styles that I'd like to sound like. But I grew on Vicente Fernadez and mariachi music, hip hop, 90s rap even f**kin country music inspired me to play. By far though my biggest influence was Metallica. They completely changed my life and was guided to the heavy side of music by them.”

IVAN’S FUEL FOR LIFE:
“My fuel for life is not to disappoint my loved ones, but also myself. Do what I can to contribute and be a good human. We need good people w good intentions to prevail.”

“On stage, I wanna be on time with drums and have fun, that's all. When you hear people cheer after your song is over, it is an overwhelming feeling. That's why I do it...’”

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
“Have fun f**kers!! Enjoy it don't stress cause in the end, none of this means s**t!!!”

Thanks Ivan! See you next Saturday loco!

Very much in his prime with his music, Chad began his journey at the age of 15 years when his mother gifted him an Ibanez RG6 and line 6 spider practice amp, which he played until the age of 18. Chad put the guitar down for a while until his 28th birthday when his mother bought him a Peavy Rockmaster Marvel. He still has it to this day because it definitely ignited a fire for his now well known passion that we’ve all come to admire. Chad’s drive in this world is fueled by his son, his mother, and his small circle of ride or die friends. Depending on the groove, inspiration, and his mood, Chad also enjoys Classic Rock, Hip hop, Reggae, EDM, and Jazz Fusion. You can find Chad’s guitar talents with Empty Shell and Coprolaia in the Big-cartel pages, Bandcamp page, YouTube, and any music streaming service like Spotify. Now let’s jump in the PIT!

Influences:
Vincent Bennett of the acacia strain, Adam Warren of Oceano, three 6 Mafia, Z Ro, and UGK

Previous VOCAL projects:
Save the Princess, Mushroom Kingdom Massacre, and Alligators Ate My Ancestors.
Previous BASS projects:
Tweak, Southbound on Kiest, and the sea serpent slaying colossus that was known as SPLATTA FISH!!

BIO:
Matt spent elementary school outside of Memphis, Tennessee and moved to South Dallas the last two weeks of 6th grade. Been around North Texas ever since, calling (the 75 11 9,) Ennis home for the last decade. I'd recommend going to Spotify, YouTube, whatever app you use to listen to music and search "Suffer” by MEGA MATT. It's a perfect introduction to Matt.

CONVERSANT:
MATT -
“I was a military brat, so we went wherever my old man was told to go. I was a teen hanging out at a pool hall (shout-out Tana Town!) and the scheduled band couldn't make it one Friday night. The big homie with a guitar, Augie Gonzales, asked me and another friend (Patrick Canada) if we played any instruments. Patrick played drums and for some du***ss reason I said "I play bass", even though I had never picked up an instrument besides what the school offered! But I knew I wanted to be in front of everyone and I knew Patrick had a bass. That Christmas, Santa brought me a starter pistol (a 4 stringed Ibanez packaged with an amp the size of a pack of smokes) and I've been addicted to music ever since.
Prior to that I always loved rapping and singing. Writing songs and practicing them, writing raps and rehearsing them in case a battle popped off!! Parties, school hallways, arcades and laundry mats were where I usually showcased these abilities 😂.”

“My fuel for life is my kids. My four sons are why I wake up everyday. I am a Dad first and a musician second, and a superhero on Sundays. ( Twitch: one_punch_matt_ )”

“With MEGA MATT and my hip-hop projects, it's more of sharing my thoughts. I have songs about drugs, politics, science and football. Love songs, hate songs, bu****it and cool s**t. Most of the songs I've come up with over the last two decades have started as freestyles that I felt needed a little more.”

“Mushroom Kingdom Massacre was a studio project me and Chad Matthews (Empty $hell and coprolalia) collaborated on. Just slammy riffs with an angry dude yelling about video games! Save the Princess was mega similar in that aspect!
Períco started as OVERDO$E TX a little over a year ago. 'CPT. KILOS' Carlos Casillas made a post about starting a beat-down band with Chase the VnillaGrilla Nunn and I had to put my beak in that business! Blue came into the fold shortly after and it's been taking flight ever since! The first song we wrote collectively was entitled 'períco' and one day we thought it would be a better fitting band name. We are your official BEANS and RICE BEAT-DOWN ℱ PROVIDERS, except no substitutions.”

“I love EDM, dubstep, hard style. Classic rock, blues, hip-hop. Anything besides country can be meditational, and medicinal, for me.’”

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
“Iron sharpens iron. This music s**t isn't a competition, there's enough for all of us to eat!”

Thank you Matt! SEE YOU AND THE REST OF PERICO TONIGHT

R.J. Davis- Drums
Grayson Hughes- Bass
Damian Miller- Vocals
Tracy Williamson- Guitar

BIO:
Coming at us brutally and with the combination sounds ranging from gore, drugs, then serial killing, add a little p**n, some macho wrestling, added with all that is sick, glorious, twisted s**t, then stems Asphyxiation Infecta. Originally from Van Alstyne Texas; Randall Davis, Corey Brown, and Gerald Young were sitting around their jam room when Corey came up with name one day. He is a big Jimi Hendrix fan and Jimi died of Asphyxia. Wanting to infect everyone with their music, they added an A to the end of Infect and Asphyxiation Infecta was born. Now, let’s jump in this pit.

CONVERSANT:
Randall -
“It is hard to describe the music we create because we don't stick to a formula of its got to be this or its got to be that. We don't try to be the most brutal or the fastest or even the most technical. Whatever comes out, comes out. We are currently in the process of writing new songs to be released as an E.P. entitled Rage Incited Pe*******on. And plan on dropping a single here soon so stay tuned for that. I would suggest listening to our full length album, ‘Where the dead come to Orgasm.’ I would say go listen to everyone's favorite, ‘I Turned Your Daughter Into A He**in Addicted Pornstar.’”

THE MASTER LINE UP:
Randall -
“Damian has been around for awhile now and has filled in a couple other times before for us. He has been our break glass in case of emergency guy and has always done a great job. I believe Purge Night was his 4th show of doing vocals for us and we are happy to now have him as a permanent member. We have a new member, and would like to announce that Tracy Williamson of Tyrannical Deception is now be our 3rd guitarist. Tracy was brought into the band a few months ago. Yes I asked Tracy to step in for me, because I knew with the new position that I took at work that I wouldn't be able to get as much time off to play shows and didn't want to kill the band. Tracy and all the guys in Tyrannical Deception are a part of the AxIx family. So I asked him if he would be willing to step in for me and with no hesitation he said yes and I can't think of any better to step to do the job. Purge Night wasn't my last performance. I have decided to stick with doing shows, I am still working a lot so we won't be doing a ton of gigs . Probably 1 a month for now and will build it up sometime down the road. We are mainly gonna concentrate on writing and recording new material with the new line up.”

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
Randall -
“Well new bands on the scene, I say just keep working. Go out and do it yourself as much as possible. Don't rely on or wait for promoters or fest, tours etc etc to come to you, and if they do come to you make sure to get paid for what you love to do .As for the fans I say thank you. You guys keep us going by coming to the shows nasty, starting pits buying a t shirt. There is nothing better than being at a venue and seeing someone wearing our shirt or just coming up and saying hi each and every time we play. Again thank you can't wait to unleash the new stuff we have in store for you guys.”

Thank you Asphyxiation Infecta! Stay sikk!!
