Flowers mark so many milestones. Birth, birthdays, dances, graduations, engagements, weddings, baby’s, anniversaries, then death. We’re drawn to flowers to express joy and for comfort. One of the beautiful parts of this work. In my “regular” job as a nurse, I see so many of life’s struggles, maybe that’s one of the reasons I love flowers so much too, celebrating the happy times and holding on to the memories. Every time I create a floral arrangement, I think about who it is for and pray for them while I work. It’s a kind of sweet meditation with the One who made these lovely blooms. It was an honor to be asked to create this casket piece for a friend’s family.
