I'm not gonna lie, it was a tough year. I've probably never cried more. We mourned the death of Lewis' father and a few months later, we nearly lost my Dad. Seeing him alone for more than a month in the hospital, 13 days on a ventilator, and not being able to visit him or console my mom in person felt like living in a nightmare at times. But he survived and we are SO beyond grateful, LOVE you Dad 😘😘😘⠀

For all the tears, I think I've also never laughed so much, been in so many text threads with friends & family (Quarantini 🍸 anyone?) and spent SO much wonderful time with my kids. What a blessing! I feel so much closer to my siblings, friends and kids. ⁠⠀

We had some amazing milestones like my daughter graduating from High School. Way to go Gwen!!! My son got his Driver's Permit, watch out San Diego! So proud of you both! We also welcomed my baby niece Daisy into the family. 😍⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Oh and you know what else? LOVE SPUN FILMS is officially through it's 10th year of business and we're still going strong!!! COVID you can't keep us down! We launched Love Spun January 1st 2010, and at the end of 2020 we couldn't be any happier at the amazing business we've built, the couples we've got to meet, and the friends we've made along the way!⁠⠀

While this summer wasn't the filming season we expected, I feel extra grateful for the time off with my family, the time to work on goals and more than anything it made me realize how much I miss weddings!!! ⁠⠀

Looking back at this Calistoga Ranch wedding from last September has got me excited for all the 2021 inquiries that are pouring in! ⁠⠀

When I think back to this all I can think of is fun! ⁠⠀

It was so important to our bride & groom that this wedding didn't feel traditional, so they opted out of a formal sit down dinner and assigned seating. Instead, they worked with to create zones of open seating, cozy sofas, food stations, & bars to mingle at.⁠⠀

Hi there friends! It's meeeee! Jessica! Yes, I know, I've been living UNDER A ROCK. But seriously it's been for the greater good!!!⠀⠀

I've been working so, so hard for my clients, because you know, as much as I want to spend all my time on IG, what is most important, is my clients! ⠀⠀

I think it's no secret in our industry, that a lot of photographers & videographers LOVE shooting the weddings but we get buried in the backlog of editing, delivery, the general post production MADNESS & STRESS ensues. (BTW if this is something you're struggling with or feel like you could use some support in this area of your business, let me know, I'd love to know I'm not the only one ;)⠀⠀

BUT, with a capital B, I am so proud of myself for pushing through this past few months of long work days to deliver all of our 2018 wedding films before the 2019 season really kicks off!!!⠀⠀

So, I hope that we'll be seeing a lot more of each other now that I am human again! ⠀

It is so fitting that this week Katheren & Michael's Lake Tahoe wedding was featured on and we were able to share our film from this beautiful location. Now it's Friday the 8th and we are heading up to Lake Tahoe once again to film our 1st wedding of the season! ⁣⠀

On both accounts, it's a pretty great way to kick off 2019! Now let's just hope the roads stay clear! ⁣⠀

When I am filming a wedding, I am always listening and looking for ways that I can tell the story of each of my couples. I want the them to feel like their film is truly a reflection of their personality & connection, and makes them feel as if they can travel back to this magical moment over and over again. ⁣⠀

On this particular day, my job was pretty easy. Katherene, our bride, gave me the perfect sentiments to craft their story with. Her toast was poetic and meaningful, a story of deep and passionate love, of finding each other. For me as an editor, it was the perfect way to start their film, to let her words set the stage.⁣⠀

I knew pretty much from the minute that I arrived at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe, to film Katherene & Michael’s wedding that it was going to be insane, and I mean that in the best way of course! ⁣⠀

When I walked in, was already intently capturing the intrecate details that Carey of was meticulously styling. As a perfectionist myself, I found this attention to even the smallest and delicate details, refreshing and inspiring. ⁣⠀
