Happy Trails Flower Farm is owned and operated by Rick and Tanis Clifton. We specialize in growing beautiful, unique and stunning flowers for specialty stores, florists, designers and lovers of flowers. We also offer Special Event design work from our on farm design studio. We grow hundreds of different varieties of flowers, foliages, pods, cotton and textural beauties of the highest quality. O
ur farm is located in the rolling hills of Tishomingo County right along the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway in Northeast Mississippi. You can find our flowers in Birmingham every Saturday at Pepper Place Farmers Market (April - November) and at Whole Foods Market in Mountain Brook. Every light a prayer for peace, a special program implemented by The Garden Club of Alabama has been in place for 69 years. This year’s ceremony was beautiful and well attended by garden club members from all over the state, including Red Bay members Tanis Clifton, Mary Kathryn & Andy Wiggins.

How do we get our Christmas wreaths so lush? We use lots and lots and lots of evergreen ingredients! Each wreath contains over 100 hand cut and arranged stems. We will bring some to for the last time this year on Saturday. Come get them while they last.

Our last trip to Birmingham’s Pepper Place Market this weekend will be loaded with Christmas Wreaths, Evergreen Porch Tubs, reindeer vase arrangements, mini everlasting floral pumpkins, fresh hand tied flower arrangements and lots of botanical resin keepsakes perfect for gift giving. Thank You to all of our market customers, we couldn’t do this without you!

It was just such a pleasure to preserve Carli Brasfield’s wedding bouquet. I don’t always get to meet the bride and groom, but I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet couple when they picked up their wedding tray. It was an extra special piece because it also had pieces the bride’s Mother’s wedding veil in it. Can you see it? Thank You Carli for trusting me with such special memories.

This is how you plant 500 fancy daffodil bulbs. Thanks to my friend @theneverendingflowerfarm quick planting tip, this job went a lot faster. Daffodils should be planted with the roots down, but don't be concerned if bulbs are pushed sideways or turned upside down when you replace the soil. They will grow properly, thanks to geotropism—plants’ stems always grow opposite gravity. Yay for gravity!
