Nowadays, it seems like everything is advertised as “customized”, but what does that actually mean?

For us, it means there’s no such thing as a “normal” or “cookie-cutter” setup or event.

First, we travel with all of our equipment and determine what is needed and how best to set up based on multiple factors:
1) Your layout and decor - specifically how we can blend in and be as unobtrusive as possible. We aren’t the stars of the show, you are! We also take care to ensure our setup is clean and safe - which means cables are secured, taped, or hidden.

2) How we can maximize our sound and light show so announcements and toasts can be heard clearly by everyone - yet no one is subjected to a blaring speaker all night. This often means going the extra mile by running additional satellite speakers that are shut off later in the evening for “party time”, so guests can still mingle and hear themselves elsewhere in your hall.

Additionally, we meet with our clients to get an understanding of their vision and how we can help bring it to life. We’re happy to provide advice, ideas, and share what we’ve seen be successful - but ultimately YOU are the boss and we work for you.

We never claim to be the best, just the best at how we do it! We all play music, so why Lyons Pride?

1) Ownership:
We don’t see ourselves as just your DJ. We consider ourselves your event coordinators. We own the experience and aim for seamless transitions from one element of your event to the next. We coordinate with your photographer, videographer, caterers, hall staff and beyond to ensure everyone knows the plan and is ready to rock.

2) Experience:
Between the 2 of us, we have a collective 40+ years of experience in this industry. We don’t claim to know everything, but all those years has allowed us to learn to think on our feet and roll with the unexpected. From our sound equipment and lighting, to our crowd engagement and music selection - it’s all the product of many years of learned lessons, trial & error, and refinement (I use that term loosely 🤣).

3) Fun!
We are in this business because we enjoy what we do! We get to entertain, engage, and otherwise play with folks for a living - all while bringing their vision to life! If you’re looking for bored button-pushers, we aren’t for you. We make it our mission to keep as many of your guests having fun as possible, so they stay and enjoy the party you worked so long to plan and bring to life.

We often get asked;
“why don’t you guys advertise or do bridal shows?”

Our answer is always the same; “we don’t need to!”
We made a decision long ago to let our work speak for itself. We don’t want/need to be booked every weekend. Our goal is the quality of what we do, not the quantity of bookings. Word of mouth speaks volumes and the kind reviews, recommendations, and referrals of our past clients keep us plenty busy!

Plus, it allows us to use our “ad budget” to invest in other unique opportunities:

- supporting our friends at Wild Quincy by being a monthly patreon supporter.
- keeping our brand bright and beautiful with the help of Signs By Kindhart who did our trailer wrap and multiple other projects that kicked ass!

There are plenty of options when it comes to finding your officiant, DJ, or Photo Booth provider.
We’ll never be the biggest, the cheapest, or claim to be the “best”, but our reputation speaks for itself.
