🌱Recommendations for Seasonal Flowers🌱

The best thing you can do for yourself when looking at flowers, this goes for both event and retail flowers, is to see what's in season.

Seasonal flowers tend to be less expensive than anything out of season. Some locations have different seasons.

For example, New York has tulips blooming further in the year than California due to the different climates.

💐Reading Quotes from Wildflower Florist💐

Imagine you've just received a quote from us. But you're confused on what you're seeing.

Go section by section.

Personals: these are typically the items carried or put on the bridal party. They typically need to be delivered to the hotel or venue. The right column lists the number of each line item, then the total of all items.

Each section follows the same suit. Listing the item and total number of each item needed.

There is also a notes section on the bottom. Here I tend to put specific flowers if I notice them repeated through your inspo, style of arrangement, etc. It's where I put some details to help understand the cost.

Then there's the Subtotal, Labor, Sales Tax and then the final total!

Let's Do This!!

It's the comeback, so it's a bit lengthy . . .

I needed a break from being a business owner/marketing manager/content creator/accountant.

Valentine's Day threw me for a loop but I learned a lot:
❣️Marketing sucks - found out people in my immediate circle hadn't seen a single post of mine 🙃
❣️Stressing doesn't change the outcome, actions do
❣️I have to work harder than I ever have before and change the game . . . again 🫠

(Trial and error)

Over the 6 months to a year:
💐I had no idea the how the name of my business would've been perceived by the public. Wildflowers are not grown purposefully, they grow where no one should under conditions that make it difficult. Running a business is those things, it's not all about the pretty flower, but how they got there.
💐More effort, show up more and let yall know who I am as a human
💐Teaching YOU how to make the best decisions and showing YOU how to handle your wedding flowers

My opinion on Faux Flowers; here's another round of fightin' words

I don't like them. Yes, they have come a long way, and they look so real blah, blah, blah. I can tell. As a florist, I can tell the difference.

When did they get so popular? They aren't cheaper, only difference is you'll have them forever. But wait you can keep your real ones forever too, preservation is a thing.

I do all real everything, I don't even do dyed Flowers. If it doesn't come in that particular color I find something else that does. It's my style (this also goes back to designer's choice). I do my thing you stress less because I know how to get the desired look.

Don't make this mistake when reaching out to wedding florists!

Requesting out of season varieties. Peonies, Sweet Pea and Dahlias all have limited seasons and they are all very beautiful of course.

This drives up the cost and if you are wanting a particular style/vibe outside of their season we can always discuss alternatives.

I will never promise any variety that is out of season because of the odds of getting it are slim.

Hey, Y'all . . .

Bit if a PSA. For pretty much the entirety of my business' existence I have gotten the comment/question "Oh you only use wildflowers?! That's so cool."

This assumption is wrong. It's also something I never imagined I would have to explain.

Wildflower Florist was born out of where I grew up. It carried over from my floral design class.

Today, it helps move me along, sometimes. Wildflowers grow where they want, and they thrive at it. This is why I keep trying. To grow when it seems impossible, to grow when environment isn't ideal, to reach my goals even when nothing is going right, to keep trying even though I'm tired.

I use lots of flower varieties, that's what I love. From the biggest sunflowers to the smallest waxflower, I'm not putting myself in a box. My last two weddings were in opposite ends of the spectrum, from full flowers to lots of greenery. I loved both and want to create more.

In the coming weeks, I'm making a change to move forward. A change that will allow me to focus more on the life I want to live and the goals I have for myself and my future.

Hope this gives some clarification and clears up any confusion about what I create.
