“Weddings are just one day…”

Oh, but they’re not. They are undoubtedly a lifetime, and then another and another. They are every lifetime that has come before.

The people you love and all that makes them who they are. The people who dreamed you into existence in the hope that you’d dream your own dreams. And celebrate them. And dream up the existence of what and who comes next.

The dress you wear. The songs you dance to. The florals that may wilt within a week or so but will always remind you of the day you celebrated with your entire heart, surrounded by everyone you love.

The heirlooms that, when first held in loved ones’ hands, were merely objects. Made heirlooms only with time and sentimentality. And the belief that someday those items would become heirlooms to you.

When we celebrate weddings and marriage and love, we celebrate legacy. And the creation of new legacy. Legacy that may not show itself until decades from now, and that will always be worth the wait. ✨

Every moment, magical. ✨

On a visit to my hometown of Dartmouth, I stopped into to chat with my pal at work. As we talked about Ruthie’s upcoming engagement and all the excitement of wedding planning, .carroll popped joyfully out of the dressing rooms declaring she was ALSO beginning to plan her wedding. We met and talked and reveled in the thrill of it all, and a few weeks later Liza’s name popped just as joyfully into my inbox.

From day one, Liza & Matt’s sentimentality and deep appreciation for celebrating marriage in all the ways that matter was so inspiring. A reminder of all the most important things - Being fully present. Being fully YOURSELVES. Embracing family legacy and honoring those who love you. An appreciation of heirlooms and memories. An openness to experiencing magic.

Liza & Matt - I am forever grateful for being included in your journey. I am changed from watching the way you and your families moved through your wedding day, with presence and grace and joy and FUN. Thank you for trusting and encouraging us all to make magic for you - it’s a gift I’ll never forget.

If you’ve recently been searching for your wedding photographer or plan to soon, chances are you’ve used the word “candid” to describe how you want your photos to look.

It’s no surprise that everyone wants their wedding photos to capture joy and emotion and authentic, real moments…

It’s also no secret amongst wedding vendors that it is SO easy for couples to fall into the trap of TRYING to achieve candid. Requesting long lists of specific photo moments and putting a lot of pressure on capturing specific “must have” photos.

Here’s the thing - you can’t TRY at candid. The entire essence of the word means that it just IS. The moments simply happen because you just ARE.

So how do you avoid the trap of trying to achieve candid in a way that inevitably becomes stressful or disappointing?

Book the right photographer. Trust them. Let go. An experienced photographer is going to capture the must haves by default. And if you let them do their thing, they’ll capture the true, genuine, candid moments of your day as they unfold.

Like your reaction when you enter your reception with everyone you love cheering for you.

Like the serenity of sneaking away for a walk with your new husband or wife, just the two of you.

Like the pure, uninhibited laughter at your sister’s hilarious maid of honor toast.

Like the FUN of a mom dancing with her son on his wedding day, a long awaited moment.

Like the flower girl making an impromptu decision to carry a duck sculpture she found on the porch down the aisle instead of the flowers you’d planned for.

Let your day happen. Let your photographer capture it. Let yourself feel joy and emotion and true presence, and the candid will come.

Well, does has done it again, telling Olivia and Noah’s story through the most stunning stationery. ✉️

This suite is full of custom touches and subtle nods to the city. The toile featuring all things Boston, little ducklings guiding guests through weekend events, and trolley transportation card are all such sweets to welcome guests for the wedding weekend. Classic but whimsical, traditional but fun. The perfect way to sum up O&N and their perfect day. ✨

I am honored and humbled to have been named one of the Best Wedding Planners and Designers in the Northeast by among some truly talented colleagues!

This past weekend I kicked off my 9th (!!!) wedding season as Kelly Golia Events, and was reminded yet again that not only do I love what I do, it fulfills so much of who I am as a person.

While swooning over some details during set up with and trying to capture the magic on our phones, we sighed and said “Photos will just never do it justice…”

And it hit me then - isn’t that the magic of events? They are meant to be experienced fully in person, and a celebration that is truly, thoughtfully designed and planned can transport guests from their day-to-day into moments where they are genuinely present.

From the glow of candlelight, to the scent of fresh flowers, to the taste of exquisitely curated menus chosen especially by a couple for their guests to enjoy. From the sound of the band striking up the first dance song, to the feeling of generations-long memories being made. It is not lost on me that what I do is unbelievably special.

I am beyond grateful to the 80+ couples and their families who have welcomed me into their lives over the past 9 years and allowed me to celebrate alongside them, and to the insanely talented vendors who have brought every vision to life. How lucky am I to have built a career that feels like celebrating every single day?

Cheers to a new season of celebration, and to everyone who’s celebrated with me over the years. Thank you for the recognition of the hard work and heart we bring to all that we do! ✨

It’s April, and that means we can officially say that our 2024 wedding season begins next month! We’ll be kicking off the season with one truly stunning celebration at one of my favorite spots, . A love letter to our Galentines ❤️

On Friday, friend and fellow planner and I hosted our beloved Galentines Celebration. The foundation of this event has always been creative collaboration in the name of community over competition, and celebrating the women in our local wedding community who give their hearts and souls to the work they do.

The absolute MAGIC that this incredible group of women created is nothing short of mind blowing. Teams consisting of planners, designers, florists, stationers, and photographers dreamed up inspired visions for stunning tablescapes using elements from and . Each working off the same design prompt, we created 5 wildly unique table designs for our guests to enjoy.

Hair and makeup teams glammed up participants who were decked out in their chicest pajamas. Guests enjoyed tarot card readings and permanent jewelry applications, and were spoiled with locally crafted gifts from some fave women-owned businesses. Megan captured the day flawlessly and shared our work with you all in real time.

Our venue partners supplied the perfect setting for our pajama party chic inspiration, and guests enjoyed overnight stays in their charming airstreams.

blew us away with their culinary take on classic sleepover foods (I wish you could taste it all!) and the yummiest desserts and candy spreads imaginable. Dare I say that their strawberry margarita was the best I’ve ever had?!

This event is a reminder that creative collaboration, intentional partnership, genuine kindness, and enthusiastic passion for creating beauty is what makes our industry shine. When we support and uplift our community with a shared love of the work we do, we create actual magic.

Sharing gratitude for all who contributed to Galentines Day 2024 - you have given me an extra boost of excitement for all the ways in which we’ll work together in the year to come!

On your wedding day, you’re practically celebrities - every guest is going to want to spend time with you. The most surefire way to slow things down and truly soak in the day? Carving out intentional time between you and your partner, even if just for a few minutes. It’s the difference between “our wedding day flew by” and “we’re bummed it’s over, but every single moment was perfect”. ✨
