We seek to revolutionize Hip-Hop by re-establishing the days where local talent reigned supreme in the hearts and minds of the people. In doing so, we look to accomplish four (4) goals

1. To cultivate an International Hip-Hop industry, which can run independent of national happenings.

2. To encourage the real Hip-Hop, where true talent and showmanship outshines lies and hype.

3. To facilitate t

he development of the cohesiveness of the MIdwest’s Hip-Hop community; to provide people with a common ground to connect on.

4. To provide a platform for the talents of the Midwest shine on a local, national and global stage. Heartland Hip Hop seeks to affect a positive culture in the following aspects:
• Language
• Music
• Dance
• Art
• Fashion
• Food
• Current Events


Hip-Hop Defined:

Hip-Hop is the poetic expression of life. It manifests on different levels, but in all levels, it comes from the spirit. The four elements of Hip-Hop culture (DJing, Emceeing, Breakdancing and Graffiti) run parallel with the elements of emergent ancient culture (The Drums, The Griot, The Dancer and Hieroglyphics). Hip-Hop can manifest as language, music, fashion, art and dancing, amongst other avenues. Because of its encompassing properties, Hip-Hop is something that can be felt by people of all nations, races, backgrounds and genders. It will prove instrumental in creating an environment in which people can see themselves in one another.
