I’ve been paying attention a lot to the industry lately. You can kind of feel the boom of Covid is over, and things are settling back into some kind of normal. But the normal is different from 2019. A lot of that has to do with the next generation getting married and what their priorities are.

And so I feel myself shifting and looking at new material, finding new inspiration, and almost creating a new strategy for 2025 and ahead.

One thing that is a big shift or maybe just an emphasis, is the attention to bigger and grander details - think of it like the full picture. So many of my idols in the industry do such a great job of capturing the wide shot or the expansive, stunning looking ceremony set ups, or taking couples into stunning off the beaten Trail locations for their photos.

So in our new pricing guide that will release with the new year , you’ll be able to find elopement packages, adventure sessions for both engagement sessions, and formal Bride And Groom portraits, candid camera option with a cute little add-on feature I’ll tell you about soon, and even drone photography is going to be added to Wedding collections this year when available.

I’m telling you, next year is gonna be the best year yet. And I’m dying to see where it takes me next. ☺️

Formal is out, and candid is in. Let me explain.

For a few years, the idea of the big over the top portrait of couples on their wedding day has been decreasing in popularity, but suddenly this year it seems less important then ever. In fact the emphasis is on "candid" (which, that definition is going to be another post for me...), natural, in the moment photos. Focusing not only on the action - but also the reaction, the little moments that go unnoticed, and the details as they are, not overly stylized.

I have something big (like, really big) in the works that I'm hoping to share at the start of the new year, but for now - my focus is going to be on sharing the "real moments." As my lovely 2nd shooters often tell me, "we all know you can pose... stop showing that."

And they're right :) Get ready for big and little, authentic and beautiful in-the-moment photos on my account

Cheers to love and new beginnings! 🥂✨ It's engagement season.

Pro Idea: Champagne and family photos to greet guests at your wedding ceremony has been one of my favorite trends over the last year. Family photos and candid moments are what we live for after all.

As wedding vendors fill their calendars, it's the perfect time to secure your dream vendors. Don’t wait too long – as you plan, dates are being taken little by little across the board so my recommendation is to reach out to your 3 most important services and 2-3 vendors in each of those categories before the new year to not only secure them for your date (but also at the best prices before 2026 guides come out!)

Even though its black friday, today marks the official start of Engagement season - which - for wedding vendors is the start of our very busy consultation time.

Over the next 3-4 months, a large majority of newly engaged couples will get engaged. And as they spend time around family, they'll also start their wedding planning process looking for all kinds of vendors.

What that means for couples and vendors alike is that more dates are going to start to disappear, vendors will be filling out their 2025 season, and prices will probably go up a smidge anywhere from 2-10%.

So - if you're starting your planning process - do yourself a favor and reach out to 2-3 of the most important services on your list, and 2-3 of the most important vendors in those services before they get booked out!
