I hear from clients all the time asking what they can do to capture better remote video. The number one suggestion I have is lighting. Regardless of your budget, improving your lighting can make even the most mediocre web cam look better.
My set up is simple: a couple of LED light panels (I have a set of Neewer panels), my Canon DSLR on a tripod and a mic (I use an sE Electronics sE2200 and a USB interface, but there are some great USB mics I would suggest depending on how comfortable you are with technology).

Having the right gear to help your clients is always important, especially if that gear can give them peace of mind. One such tool is a portable teleprompter. I use one from Glide Gear along with a great app from JoeAllenPro called GetTeleprompter. It is a life saver for clients who do better with a script!
