Let's talk event trends...in these last few years we've all experienced so many changes and how events are planned have not been excluded. What trends in 2023 can you expect to think about implementing when planning your next event?
1. Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) for Events (This is GAMIFICATION!)
2. Social Media as an Event Promotion Tool (Social media is still one of the best ways to measure success and acceptance for events and ideas.)
3. Mobile technology is changing how people attend events (Developing an app or using an event software can change the way you plan events for the best.)
4. Live streaming events to attract attendees (More people than ever before are watching live streams online.)
5. Sustainability as a New Events Trend Rule (Many technological aspects and energy sources are becoming cleaner.)
6. Accessibility for Digital and In-person Events (people and organizations will value digital accessibility.)
7. Privacy & Security for Events (Event organizers need to be extra careful with how they handle event data.)

Are you familiar with time blocking?
When it comes to scheduling out my day, it’s amazing what I can get accomplished in 15-minute increments. I can update a layout, make changes to a run-of-show or add a budget line item in 15 minute increments.
I put this method into practice when I took a class by my friend Barb Hubbar, it's all dedicated to staying Focused, and my productivity when planning my clients events has been through the roof ever since!
How do you make the most of your precious time when you’re in “work mode”?

Do you feel the worse part of making dinner is the planning of it? Wouldn't it be fun if everything was made for you and planned out?
I know I do and sometimes looking in the fridge at the end of the day there are times that I have that blank look. Whew, I have a busy schedule, what about you?
While I can't help plan out your meals, I get a lot of benefits when I go with my clients to tastings. It's fun to see them indulge and say "yes" to a lot of yummy foods. Sometimes a "no" isn't really that and along with the great chefs I get to work with we can help them turn that "no" into an excited "yes." I love menu planning!
Would you like a great event with everything planned out for you including the meal you're serving to your clients? Are you ready to take a bold step and alleviate all the stress in planning your own event?
If your answer was YES to these questions I would absolutely LOVE to chat!

Virtual Events are still on the rise, and there are many tips. Here are my 5 top tips that I'd like to share today.
1. Content is no longer King - interaction is
2. Ensure you have the right marketing strategy in order to fill the room
3. Choose your virtual event venue - also known as a "dashboard" and integrated with a platform, like zoom
4. A dress rehearsal is a "must" to ensure a smooth event
5. Block your calendar for follow up starting on the first work day after your event - this is crucial

It's already a month prior to your Virtual Event!? This is what you should be doing...

When planning a Virtual Event at three months you'll want to start thinking about the following:
1. Selecting technology vendors and start setting up the platforms, including registration/ticketing, video/livestream, audience engagement tools, etc.
2. Defining and assigning support team roles for pre-production and run-of-event (speaker support, technical support, customer service, social media, A/V, etc.)
3. Launching a promotional plan, including virtual event website and/or landing page with registration/ticket sales. Don’t forget to create and enable various email confirmations and reminders.

We all love to attract are WOW client, and when I work with clients they sometimes want to skip over an important part of event strategy, which is determining your OW (aka not your right fit) client. You want to be very clear on this in your messaging. Attracting or working with these type of clients usually is draining and can result in not achieving your goals.
Do you know who your OW is and much about them?
Another aspect to Event Strategy is to determine your non-negotiables. What are you not willing to do for your event? This can be tied to business or personal choices and it is really important to do a deep dive here.
Work should be fun and so should your events. When you know your non-negotiables it creates ease and flow when planning and hosting your event.
Tell me! What are your non-negotiables?

Who should attend your event? Your WOW Client of course. Some call it Right Fit Client, Ideal Client...but I like to attract your 'WOW' client. 😲
It's important to really know who this is. You want to explore everything about them, where they hang out (online and offline), detailed demographics, what they do for a living, what they do when they aren't working, etc. I suggest you really spend some time here. If you do, you will be that much more successful with your events.
Who is your WOW Client? Give them a name.
Planning an event? Do you know your "Big Why"?
Most clients when they come to us, don't think about this and they want to do their event without thinking through their event strategy. A big piece of the event strategy is 'Your Why'.
What is the purpose of your event?
Why do you want to produce this event?
What do you want the end result of your event to be?
I always suggest to clients that they really dig dip and don't skip this step. Once we define this, then everything we do will come back to ensure it is aligned with your Big Why.
What is your Big Why for your next event? I'd love to hear all about it.
