If I had to guess I’d say there are a million tiny little decisions throughout the planning process that lead us to one unforgettable day. It’s something as simple as your welcome beverages and others more complex like your tablescape.

When I look at these photos, and all of the details within them, I see all of the hard work. The hundreds and hundreds of hours of dedication it took to create this dream for one very deserving couple. I see the love and I can still see the community that gathered (so happily) as a result of that hard work.

Today is the day! For the past 11 months we’ve been planning one epic celebration with one pretty stellar couple.

And, no…it’s not a wedding! 🤭

These two got married in Australia with most of their families present. They decided that today is all all about friends. Celebrating with them stateside in a classic DC kind of way. For them, that means an epic 40 person rooftop dinner that turns into a dance party with sweeping DC skyline views 💃🏾🥂

Everyday I’m reminded of your infectiously crazy, manic, and beautifully masterful ways…because I see it all in myself. Every year I realize more of the lessons you tried to teach me, the ones I was too stubborn to learn, but now recognize with a full vengeance all the times you were right.

I regret not being able to tell you that in person…because I now believe you. And Mom, you were right.

Over the weekend Melisa and I celebrated 7 years together. LUCKY SEVEN! 🥂✨

7 years and she still manages to be patient with my highly energetic, overly emotional, endlessly creative, forever DIYing, experiemntial kitchening, whiskey in a wine glassing, super random, feeds stray cats, adopting raccoons, always watching love reality tv show self.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7 years later and I’m still crazy about her quick wit, calming nature, alluring quietness, perfectly patient, obsessively clean, film camera and Polaroid obsessed, 4 hours early to the airport, meticulously routined, upside down hair washing, pumpkin curry making, beautiful almond eyed self.

In between our wedding prep and assembly yesterday we met with TWO potential new Angelica & Co. couples. These are the moments I live for…busy days packed with love at all angles. ✨

It’s a wedding week for our team, which means we are in FULL PREP MODE. 👏🏼

Natalie is in the office, our hair is pulled back, and our sleeves are rolled up. Today is an assembly day at its finest for our Saturday wedding. OH JOY! 😜

We have 175 menus and place cards to organize & bundle alphabetically, by table, and then by seat to help us slay our time on-site. Every good planner knows, these things STEAL TIME. (Like hours…) But not on our watch. 🙅🏽‍♀️

Our number 1 job on site is to support our couple and their families. How would we have time to do that if we didn’t take care of the heavy prep ahead of time?
