Happy football season! We will offer tailgate pick up items for the first MU game, Thursday, August 29th. I’m excited for to be able to share some of our favorite items for you to grab on your way to the game OR to take home and enjoy over Labor Day weekend.

Big MO Drumsticks- Chicken drumsticks in my soy sauce -brown sugar glaze- will be delicious cold, $18/dozen

The TAILGATE sandwiches – Turkey or Ham, Provolone on Hawaiian Rolls; topped with sweet herby mustard glaze and baked, $28/dozen

Smoked Buffalo Chicken Dip- I’ll start with pulled smoked chicken breast, mix with pepper jack cheese and other yummy stuff. I’ll send it warm with a bag of Black and Gold tortilla chips, $26/2 pound container

TOMATO PIE-Not really a tailgate item, but many of you have been asking for them. My favorite summer dish, $35/ pie

Tiger Slaw – Peanuts, Peas and Poppyseeds mixed with a cabbage medley, family favorite, $20/pan

Spinach Artichoke Dip with Black and Gold Tortilla Chips, $20/2 pound container

I MIGHT do some of the Almond Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates, check with me when you order.

I’d like you to text, 573-999-1654 or DM your orders please. When I get your order, I will give you a total price and we will schedule a pickup time. My new kitchen is 212 E. Green Meadows Road, suite 5, great parking. I plan to have everything ready by 3:30 (7pm game) and will have hot food ready for you to take. I do need your orders by Sunday 8/25, in order to get all the food in. We will see how this goes and will hopefully continue, depending on the catering schedule. I won’t offer for the 9/7 game, calendar too full already for that game.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted.
Here is a quick business update with much more to come later.

I am back at work full time after taking time off to be with my family. I am excited to share that we have a fabulous new kitchen, 212 Green Meadows, suite 5. It’s between Peking & Flyover. Lean Kitchen was formally in the space and I took over the lease Nov. 1. We are filling the calendar with events and holiday parties.

The new location will allow us to resume the meal side of my business in January. It is a perfect location for picking up family meals & meal prep items. I’ll have ordering and menu options after the first of the year. I miss seeing those of you who loved our meals & hope you’re excited about this.

Here are a few glimpses of recent events:

Many of you know my dear sweet mom suffered from the horrible disease of Alzheimer’s. She passed peacefully yesterday and we are so blessed she is now at at rest. John, the boys and I had just visited her on Sunday after my only living uncle’s 93rd birthday celebration.

Kay Frances Pigg Vandiver, 87, of Richmond, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Oak Ridge Assisted Living in Richmond. A visitation will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, at the Richmond United Methodist Church.

Hello and Happy Spring!
I haven’t posted in a while… where did March go? We’ve been doing lots of fun catering, personal traveling and looking towards a fun summer of outdoor events and dining. I wanted to share my latest recipe featured in Inside Columbia Magazine.

https://www.insidecolumbia.net/2023/03/01/dinner-made-quick-and-easy-popular-sheet-pan-recipe/

Several of you have made it and texted me your reviews and that’s so fun. I hope more of you will try it, and while you’re at it, vote for me as Best Caterer under the Service heading in the “Best of” section!

My professional mantra really is to do my best, whether it’s when I’m creating a menu, cheffing, on a delivery, serving or cleaning up. I never book an event that doesn’t get my full attention and you know my amazing staff and crew are working hard with me to give you an event that always exceeds expectations.

It’s been far too long since my last post. We’re busy handling all the business life is giving us and we’re always happy to see so many of you at these fun and flavorful events. But I still get asked, “when are you going to do meals again?” You know catering is my first love and what I’m best at and it has come back in full force thankfully!
We’re going to do some meals for you this week and it might be the last time I can offer this service.
If you have a gift certificate you’ve been holding on to, this is your best opportunity to fill your freezer or share some meals with friends and family. I want to honor all gift certificates and let me know if you have them and can’t find what you want on this list. While we might have some dishes from time to time, this really is the last time we’re going to do a full menu of weekly family meals. Thanks for supporting my business and our food. We will continue to feed you at events. I hope you find something on the list you LOVE!

Orders can be texted to me by Sunday at noon 573-999-1654. . You can also direct message or email [email protected] Pick up Wednesday between 1-5 OR other times by appointment. Payment includes sales tax. Venmo is best -fougere or check or cash.

Chicken Salad $15 per pound–Pineapple and apricots make it special.

Greek Chicken Sheet Pan Dinner $35- Greek marinade, boneless chicken, potatoes, tomatoes and feta. Perfect and quick, this comes fresh and ready to cook.

Sausage Vegetable Sheet Pan Dinner $30- Chunks of sausage and plenty of vegetables there will be smiles all around.

Portobello Ravioli with Sundried Tomato Cream Sauce $35 - Ready to bake, this dish freezes wonderfully.

Shrimp and Grits $35- Because honestly, we really wanted to eat it. Cheesy, rich grits and plenty of shrimp for everyone. This dish is ready to eat but is also very freezer friendly.

Asian Meatballs $30 - Another freezer option that’s easy to pull out and heat for a quick dinner.

Cajun Chicken for the Crockpot $30-

Pistachio Crusted Salmon $35- Beautiful salmon filets ready to bake with a citrus/honey/ herb and pistachio. Great freezer meal.

Hey, everyone! I’ve missed you.
It’s been far too long since my last post. Christmas, and all its many catering events, festivities and indulgences, has come and gone. We’re still very busy handling all the business life is giving us and we’re always happy to see so many of you at these fun and flavorful events. But I still get asked, “when are you going to do meals again?” You know catering is my first love and what I’m best at and it has come back in full force thankfully!
We’re going to do some meals for you this week and it might be the last time I can offer this service.
It comes with a LOT of caveats. Like, you may see that prices are higher than you remember. They’re higher for me as well, which is one reason we’ve stopped our regular offerings. Two, many of the items will be in limited quantities, again, due to the fluctuations in product cost and availability. I will not be able to do deliveries or hold the meals for you. We are working at maximum capacity in our happy little kitchen but it doesn’t leave much extra time and certainly no extra space!
If you have a gift certificate you’ve been holding on to, this is your best opportunity to fill your freezer or share some meals with friends and family. I want to honor all gift certificates and let me know if you have them and can’t find what you want on this list. Chicken Salad $15 per pound–If you’ve had it, you understand. Pineapple and apricots make it special.

Greek Chicken Sheet Pan Dinner $35- One of our all time favorites. Greek marinade, boneless chicken, potatoes, tomatoes and feta. Perfect and quick, this comes fresh and ready to cook.

Sausage Vegetable Sheet Pan Dinner $30- Truthfully we couldn’t choose between the two of them so you win here. The convenience of these dinners can’t be overstated and our busy mom’s always request these. Chunks of sausage and plenty of vegetables there will be smiles all around.

Portobello Ravioli with Sundried Tomato Cream Sauce $35 - It just feels so decadent, the creamy smooth sauce and mushroom filling. Ready to bake, this dish freezes wonderfully and is hearty enough for a main dish but also works nicely as a side for a roasted chicken or even a burger.

Shrimp and Grits $35- Because honestly, we really wanted to eat it. Cheesy, rich grits and plenty of shrimp for everyone. This dish is ready to eat but is also very freezer friendly.

Asian Meatballs $30 - sweet and slightly spicy, these meatballs fit all kinds of meal needs. As a main dish with rice and vegetables? Over a salad? As an appetizer? Yes to all of that and more. Another freezer option that’s easy to pull out and heat for a quick dinner.

Cajun Chicken for the Crockpot $30- One of the first things we offered when we started doing meals back in the pandemic this magical mix is just spicy enough to please adults, Alfredo-y enough to please the kids and best of all you empty the bag into the crockpot and the meal literally cooks itself.

Pistachio Crusted Salmon $35- A little fancier but not snobbish. Beautiful salmon filets ready to bake with a citrus/honey/ herb and pistachio topping. I love that it looks like something that took all day but will come together very quickly. Great freezer meal.

Happy New Year! So very thankful for the best customers, staff and friends. We are blessed to be able to share our amazing food and look forward to continuing to serve you. We are happy to announce we’re ready to return to big event catering, catering events of all sizes. We have the passion, ability and support to take care of events of any size again.

We loved the family meal side of our business. It was the Covid Pivot that sustained us at a very challenging time. We loved feeding your families on a weekly basis and love the relationships we built. We will offer a few meals occasionally and will honor any gift certificates. I’ll post some
selections soon and reach out to you fabulous regulars to make some of your favorites.

Here are a few shots of some of our events this year.

The Night the Lights Went Out at VU. We prepped 3000 bags of snack mix. Dressed up in cute sweatshirts, hats & Christmas lights. Ready to share our holiday spirit. But the lights decided it wasn’t our night and it stayed dark. For those parked in line, come back tomorrow. We will be catering but our yummy snack mixes will be passed out by other elves.

Happy Fall! Our calendar is overflowing with catering and it’s so fun. It feels GREAT to be able to make delicious, creative and beautiful food for our customers and we’re so excited to move into fall with savory, comfort cooking and celebration foods. I’m so thankful to work with amazing people and be able to do what I LOVE. With the all the catering we have scheduled this fall, it’s hard to keep up on the weekly meals side of the business. We’ve got a special offering this week, and hoping to do the regular five meal schedule for pick up Oct. 5. I plan to post it next Thursday. Thanks to our family meal customers for your loyalty and patience!

In the meantime, I’m offering the following for pick up THURSDAY September 29 1pm-5pm or FRIDAY September 30, by appointment due to catering. These will be great tailgate items, everything freezes and they are our favorites. Please let me know your order by Tuesday 9/27 1:00pm via text @ 573-999-1654, messenger or email [email protected]

Slider sandwiches: Turkey, Provolone and Pesto; Ham and Swiss $22/dozen

We’re had so much fun this summer in our little downtown cookery. With our kitchen mates Marcey and Brigette from Wishflour Bakery we’ve got a little food production sorority going and it is magic. It’s sometimes chaotic and usually there are five of us crazy busy and getting in each other’s space but we’re having a ball, singing, dancing trying not to be afraid of Marcey’s podcasts and cooking and baking up a storm for all of you. And we came up with this idea for the week that we hope you LOVE.
WERE HAVING A FLASH SALE!
Come on down Wednesday starting at 2 p.m. and choose anything you want, and as many as you want, until we’re sold out. We have a limited number of meals in the freezer, a few things we’re making this week during a busy catering schedule and Marcey is going to offer mixed boxes of treats (which are awesome). We’re excited to see all of you, catch up a little and offer you some meals and treats.
Here's a fun picture of me doing what I do best-eating! Be sure to check out this month's issue of Inside Columbia Magazine for this recipe.

It’s fun to see all the happy first-day-of-school photos on social media, even from those kids who are now teachers! Although this will be the first year in many that I’m not rooting for a Fougere boy from the stands, I am looking forward to attending games, high school and college and of course, that means plenty of tailgating. With this in mind I’ve planned a menu this week that will be PERFECT for this Thursday‘s night game but can also be frozen for a few days and used over Labor Day while we’re all trying to get the last best moments of summer. Enjoy these dinners, dips and sides wherever you’re going to be.

Orders due by Monday at noon. Can be picked up Wednesday 1-4 OR Thursday by appointment for tailgating. Let me know your preference when ordering. Text 573-999-1654, email [email protected].

Spinach Artichoke Dip $20- It’s cheesy enough to feel decadent but has just enough vegetables to feel like it’s a good indulgence. Ready to pop in the oven it’s great with chips, crackers, hunks of bread or veggies for dipping.

Not-Your-Granny’s Pimento Cheese $8/half pound- To be fair, it’s quite likely I’d make boatloads of this even without our weekly meal offerings. My family expects it, especially when there’s a game on or when we’re lakeside. Ready-to-eat served with the same dippers from above or, pro tip, smear some on a burger.

Mini Slider Sandwiches done Three Ways - We couldn’t decide which of these to offer so threw caution to the wind and are doing all three. They come by the dozen
Ham and Swiss $20
Turkey, Pesto and Provolone $20
Beef with Caramelized Onion and Horseradish $24
You will bake these before serving but they are super freezer friendly so don’t worry about deciding which to get. Order all three.

Buffalo Chicken Potatoes $25-This really is the kid friendliest dish in the world. Tangy enough to be interesting it takes its flavor profile from Buffalo Chicken Wings but is so much easier to eat. Ready to heat and serve, this dish is also one that takes freezing easily.

Salmon Bowl with Peanut Sauce $30- A little more sophisticated but often requested bowl of crisp veggies, rice, roasted salmon and delectable peanut sauce. This is a take-and-eat dinner everyone loves and did I mention the peanut sauce?

Here are some glimpses of recent catering events. As we are adjusting to our empty nest, I’ve taken on a lot of events and doing what I love with food. I have the best customers and am so thankful they appreciate what I create for them. No family meals again this week but will post a menu for 8/31 & tailgate options for the night game 9/1.

Local tastes of summer.
Passed appetizers. Amazing beef, beets, mini twice baked potatoes & the lamb lollipops.
