A sweet little honeycomb creation for the hive on the last day of our nine-month-long teacher training program. Morning Altars is an art therapy and devotional practice that is based on three pillars of healing: nature, creativity, and ritual.

I can’t wait to see how I’m called to offer this practice in my community. After hosting a workshop on National Death Doula Day for my final project, I’m pondering the idea of leading regular Grief and Gratitude Walks through Lithia Park.

Southern Oregon Living and Dying Alliance (SOLADA) and A Greater Applegate are doing good things for the community!

The first Compassionate Caring Circles public meeting will be at the Ruch Library June 11 at 6:30 PM; the second in the Williams area on June 12 at 6:30 PM.

Had a great turnout with Southern Oregon Living and Dying Alliance (SOLADA) for the first Meet & Greet in Jacksonville hoping to create “compassionate caring circles” in the Applegate Valley.

- Decrease feelings of isolation
- Reduce or delay services through mutual support systems
- Establish reciprocal relationships between friends and neighbors
- Prepare for the future from a community “hive” approach

Next meeting at the Ruch Library June 11 at 6:30 PM

My husband Matt and I enjoyed a tour of Ashland’s Peerless Hotel this afternoon, a touch of romantic nostalgia for us since it’s where we stayed on our first trip to Ashland as a couple almost two decades ago.

We highly recommend this historic boutique hotel! It’s located in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance of the Shakespeare Festival, shopping/dining, and Lithia Park – a perfect location for an intimate elopement.

It's been so smoky here (AQI over 260), but yesterday morning I masked up and went on a wander because I wanted to make a gift of love to give to the planet -- except it was so hazy I couldn't stay outside long. I’m just popping in to share my little morning altar … in the living room, on the ottoman. I hope it inspires you and brings you comfort.

A few weeks ago, my husband Matt and I had a sweet, intimate ceremony in Lithia Park to renew our vows for our anniversary. It was everything we had hoped it would be after we canceled our plans to go to Barbados this year to celebrate when Matt had his heart event in March. Unlike our wedding 10 years ago in Columbus, Ohio, it was just the two of us making new commitments to each other, honoring our recent blessings and challenges, and reflecting on the promises we made in our original marriage vows.
