Event management isn’t as simple as it may appear. Often, it looks effortless because of the complex coordination, project management, vendor support, and operations team working behind the scenes to craft a seamless experience for guests. It's easy to criticize without fully understanding the thoughtful and sometimes tough decisions that have to be made—none of which are taken lightly or without consideration for everyone involved. Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to keep your favorite artists happy and ready to rock? Let me, Dre, your trusty Artist Relations (AR) Manager, take you on a journey through my world. But don't be fooled—this job is way more than just chips and dips!
The AR Role: More Than Meets the Eye
Agent, Buyer, and Promoter: Think of this trio as the ultimate power team. The agent books the gigs, the buyer pays for them, and the promoter makes sure people show up. I keep everyone in sync.
Tour Manager: The mastermind who ensures the tour runs smoothly from city to city.
Production Manager: The wizard behind the curtain making sure every light, sound, and special effect is on point.
Stage Manager: My best buddy, ensuring everything on stage is ready to go.
Music Biz Jargon 101
One-Off: A single, standalone show. No tour bus needed for this one!
Runner: The go-to person for last-minute needs, whether it’s picking up a special request or grabbing a coffee.
Bus Stock: All the goodies and essentials on the tour bus. Snacks, drinks, and maybe a few surprises!
Day Rooms: Hotel rooms booked for a few hours so artists can rest between gigs.
Day Sheets: The daily itinerary, detailing every little thing happening that day.
Local Ground: Transportation provided by the venue.
FOH (Front of House): Where the magic is mixed—the control center for sound and lights.
Line Check: The final sound check before the show kicks off.
Merch: Short for merchandise, those awesome T-shirts, posters, and more that you can buy at the show.
Backstage: The VIP area where all the pre-show prep happens.
The Secret to Success
Being an AR manager means always thinking one step ahead. Artists often roll in from the previous night's gig, tired and in need of a friendly face who knows exactly what they need. Whether it’s a specific snack, a comfy chair, or just a quiet space, anticipating these needs is key to a stellar performance.
Why I Love This Role
FYI, I love this role more than anything else I do. Getting the artist ready for the show and watching the crowd welcome them when they hit the stage is the best feeling. Knowing that I played a small role in the performance is incredibly rewarding. So, next time you’re at a concert, remember the AR manager. The one making sure the show goes off without a hitch and that your favorite artist is all smiles and ready to rock!

We’re thrilled to announce three unique and exciting events for the 2024 and 2025 season, and we need your help to make them unforgettable!
We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers and additional staff for the following positions:
🔹 Volunteers
Help serve beer, wine, handle ticket sales, and support the VIP lounge. Each shift is 3 to 4 hours. Must be 21+ for alcohol-related tasks. High School Bright Futures hours available for non-alcohol tasks (16+).

AMG Group Music Events, LLC. is a Dunedin, Florida based full-service management company. Our team of dedicated professionals specializing in producing events from concept, production to completion for the past 20 years.
Dre, our founder, has been in the music industry starting out supporting national acts as a roadie and moving around positions to landing supporting artists as an Artist Relations Director. AMG has evolved over the years from artist development, artists management to full-service event production support.
Dre is also a member of the Recording Academy(Music industry professionals). He has also received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for his support of many Tampa Bay area charities.
Our teams are often behind-the-scenes running the events. We provide support for national and local artists as well with our full-service Artist Relations support structure which has one focus only to be of service to our Artist.
AMG Group Music Events, LLC is also involved in more than just the planning and ex*****on of the event.
We work with our clients to develop the concepts and the processes needed to have a successful event. All of the details mapped to a plan, and we build towards a successful, profitable experience for the guests and the event owners.
