Behind the Curtain

Our story begins about fall of 2006. Stephanie (Tofanelli) Thompson was a freshman at PLNU in San Diego; Orientation in Brown Chapel opened with a stuttering, quality challenged video. “I have a deep desire to help resolve and prevent technical issues.” She approached the event coordinator, and asked how she could help. Through the next four years, any free time from studying was spent gaining experience running campus events, and helping students and staff tell their story.

In a live environment, anything can happen; plus a few extra surprises. Moments of silence, a feedback squeak, and lagging video demonstration, can make or break an audience’s attention. The tech is the unsung hero, behind the scene, that keeps the story moving.
