What a day! A wedding I will certainly never forget. The weather was not on our side yesterday, but we made the best of it. Grayson was a BEAUTIFUL bride! I have loved working with her and Mrs. Tammy this past year to make her vision come to life. Something I have noticed about Grayson is that she cares so much for others. Even on her wedding day, she was making sure that everyone else was comfortable and taken care of. It was a breath of fresh air to see a bride with such generosity towards others even on a day that was all about her. It also says a lot about her when so many family and friends stayed to celebrate the couple even through a power outage! She was a joy to work with! We joked that she and Daylon will definitely be married forever after all the good luck signs we had yesterday 😂
Grayson had her ceremony at The Barn and reception under the tent at Gin Creek Plantation. This venue goes way beyond its beauty. I could not have handled yesterday without Doug and Meaghan. Doug came to my rescue time after time and quite literally when tornado winds were coming through the tent and he came to sit with me so I wouldn’t be by myself in such terrifying weather! He answered all of my phone calls and was quick to jump in and help wherever he could. He mopped floors, cut down fallen trees, handled power outages, helped put chargers on the tables, parked cars, fixed leaks, and so much more. Find me another venue owner that will do all of this! Gin Creek is so much more than a pretty venue, these are people who take southern hospitality to a whole new level and I would tell every one of my brides that they are the best team to have by your side on your wedding day. Thank you to Doug and Meaghan and all of the Gin Creek staff!
Wedding Planner is a role that I will always love, but yesterday my favorite role was being Mama of the Flower Girl 🌸 My sweet Penelope Preston made her debut and rocked it!Penelope is normally extremely shy, so I knew that this job would be tough for her. It was her time to shine and she walked down the aisle so sweetly to her Daddy. It made the planner and Mama in me so so proud of my girl!
All in all, it was a great day! We wished the weather could have been different, but it humbles the perfectionist in me when I realize some things are just out of my control. Daylon and Grayson had a beautiful ceremony reciting vows to one another in front of many family and friends and that’s what matters. I can’t wait to see how the Lord works through their marriage in the coming years. I wish you nothing but the best! Thank you for trusting me with your special day!
