One Year 🤎

We can’t believe we celebrated our first anniversary yesterday! The joy and love we felt that whole day has lingered through the special moments of our first year married. It truly feels like this day was just weeks ago, and we are grateful for how perfect it was. Mike, I love you to pieces and can’t wait to experience year two with you, with baby boy in tow.

Use this as the opportune moment to personalize. Holding our rehearsal dinner at Bitter Honey was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding weekend. The food and experience is still talked about, and how lucky are we! It was beautiful, cozy, and the food was to die for. The staff was on top of everything, and they made sure we were taken care of from the start of the planning process through the tear down at the end of the night. Thank you, Bitter Honey! 🌮

A twinkly outdoor cocktail hour. It was everything I wanted. I like when guests have the opportunity to experience different scenery during an event. So it was no question to book both Shadow Lake’s tent and clubhouse. We spent the ceremony by the water, cocktail hour under a sheet of luscious greens and twinkle lights, and the dinner party inside. It was just perfect. And my PEEPS made it that kind of perfect. Thank you and I love youuu 🤍🌿🥂

Before the ceremony, Mike and I toasted with our parents and wedding party. Originally, the idea was to make sure our wedding party and family involved in the ceremony didn’t get left out of the “arrival bev” that our guests were enjoying. But then it quickly evolved into “why don’t we use this opportunity as yet another way to thank these wonderful humans for all they’ve done to support us?” It still feels like one of the best ideas I had throughout the entire planning process because it was so special.

Highly recommend a first look for lots of reasons. Logistically, it makes for a lovely •slower• feeling day. Another reason? You can exchange personal vows with your best friend. Just you and them. This was one of my favorite parts of the day and SUCH a nice way to get the jitters out.

Get yourself a team of vendors who will knock your friggin’ socks off. Also, do a reception reveal, it’s another thing to look forward to. (Also also when you’re a wedding planner, you have to force yourself to stay out of the way and not look until it’s done, k?).

Also also also — we were so grateful to have cherished friends create the magic for us, so it was important to me that they were there to witness and I am SO glad they were. I mean, look at their reactions too 🥺
