Buttermilk Floral is growing and branching out. We are opening a Flower Farm Store just down the street from our farm and design studio. Come see us soon at 40 Sunnybrae center in Arcata.

2024 has been a year of change. The year started with a new name and is ending with a new store.

What will you be able to find at our store? Flowers, (obviously) wreaths, dried flowers, wreath making supplies, and a collection curated flower related gifts and more as it evolves.

The store will be a place to pick up flower subscriptions, a la Carte weddings, dahlia tubers, holiday centerpieces (starting with thanksgiving) Valentine’s flowers, Mother’s Day and more.

Opening day is set for Wednesday November 27th the day before Thanksgiving. We plan on being open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Christmas before taking a little break for the new year.

I look forward to sharing the behind the scenes over the next couple of weeks as we get ready to open! I hope you will follow along and come and visit when we are open. I am looking forward to spreading more local flowers with the community.

Happy November!

Wedding season, and farm season may done… but that means wreath season is here!

Flowering holiday parties, wreathing, and planning amazing flowers for next year’s weddings, a new high tunnel, and a very exciting new venture I will be sharing very soon! Stay tuned.

And while I say wedding and farm season is over…..Wedding and farm season are actually never over… it’s just a different season, as we switch into planning next year’s weddings and next year’s farm. Field clean up, quotes. Seriously excited about some of our events already on the books. Lots of super pretty colors. Just a couple weekends still available for main wedding season.

Here is a snap of last week’s bridesmaid bouquets from the with Simple white dahlias and eucalyptus with a touch of copper.

Rain off and on all next week. Hopefully we will get the rest of the dahlias dug between showers… and then on to wreath season.

End of the wedding season colliding with end of field season means all the projects, some pretty… some muddy.

1. Started the first of the dahlia digging today… while still harvesting bucketfuls
2. 2nd year seedlings hopefully making to a third year… this one is named for one of our brides this year, who’s wedding flowers featured this seedling.
3. A couple fall party buckets
4. A current favorite mum.
5. And some seed saving
….. and so many more projects to finish up before the rainy season and we switch to full holiday wreath mode and planning for next years weddings and flowers.

October garden! Chance of rain today, low of 38 Thursday 🥶… might mean the end of dahlias …. Really hoping for at least one more week. Really savoring the last few weeks of our field flowers.
