When thinking of your wedding day and particularly your ceremony, it’s important to consider a few key things: Are you planning to write your own vows or recite traditional vows? If you’re writing your own vows, are you sharing them publicly or privately? Some couples prefer the intimacy of sharing their vows privately, in which case we recommend a first look or first touch. This gives you a quiet intimate moment to share your vows that you’re making to one another. And you can still recite traditional vows during ceremony! Even if you’re not sharing your written vows, a first look or first touch can be a really sweet moment to share. There are a few benefits to sharing a first look before ceremony. First, you can accomplish some of your couple’s portraits and wedding party formals prior to ceremony, which can give you a little more time for family photos and portraits after ceremony, or could even give you enough time to join cocktail hour with your guests! (Your photographer will thank you)! A first look can also relieve some of the nerves you might be feeling leading up to ceremony. There’s a lot of anticipation leading up to seeing your spouse to be at ceremony, and if you’re feeling nervous because of this anticipation, a first look might be for you! Regardless of what you choose to do, it’s a conversation worth having with your love during the wedding planning process.
