With deep regrets, we would like to announce that the show "Pritam Live-in-Concert", which was scheduled for April 7th 2018, has been indefinitely cancelled. We at Princeton Royal Legends are very sorry for inconveniences caused due to this cancellation.
Just for records, we had made all payments for Pritam and his band, venue, audio, light, video, hotel etc And we have left no stone unturned to promote and market this show in best way ever in Tristate for a Bollywood show.
The main factor for this cancellation is the artist himself, Pritam. Being such a talented individual of the Bollywood industry, we did not expect such an unprofessional behavior from him. Since the time we picked him up from the airport on Saturday morning, we felt that he was not in the mood for performing. We had made all arrangements according to the mutually agreed technical specs provided by the national promoter, Director and reps . During the technical check in the early afternoon, one of Pritam's engineers was at the venue to do the technical check. His check didn't reveal any issues except one were a string of couple of lights were not functioning as per specs. Our technical team did offer a solution to rectify but he flatly ignored it without even consulting Pritam.
In fact, when we went back to the hotel to discuss this with Pritam, he didn't even have a professional courtesy to come out of his hotel room even once, paid for by us and go to the arena to even check the reality of a wonderful setting of stage and arena to present him and his band.
He did not even open the door and was just not ready to listen. Even though he and his team knew that it was still hours to the show and this could be rectified easily and it was an issue with a couple of lights which as per our technical team is not a major flaw, he refused to listen to anyone. He didn't even have a professional courtesy to come out of his hotel room even once and paid for by us and go to the arena to even check the reality of a wonderful setting of stage and arena to present him and his band.
As mentioned earlier, in fact it was his behavior since morning that surprised the us and led us to believe that he had made up his mind about not performing that night. He was looking for reasons to cancel the show and blame the local promoters in return for not performing. In fact, on his way from the airport in the morning he was discussing about going to New York to see some Broadway plays on that day, that is even before he or his team had gone to the arena for a technical check. One reason given to us by a source close to him was that he was told that only 300- 500 tickets were sold which made him to behave in such a manner and eventually get the show cancelled. But the fact of the matter was that we had nearly 3000 tickets out plus we were expecting more tickets to be sold during the whole day and at the box office.
He should have investigated further on the ticket sales rather than believing the rumor mill and making such an unprofessional decision. We have been at the hotel for more than 30 hours straight now, waiting for him to come out of his room and speak to us but he still is inclined on ignoring us. We have never seen any one from the performing arts industry behave in such a manner. It is very disappointing to say that Pritam, with such a fan following, did not show his professional and moral responsibilities and deserted his fans on a mere rumor. He also didn't think once about the emotional torture, financial losses and the defamation of the local promoters that his wrong decision would cause.
Once again we would like to extend our apologies though it was Pritam's intentions on cancelling the show. Hope this clears the misunderstanding on the reasons of cancellation. In the coming days we will announce on how people can get their refund and we will hold a press conference on this matter.
