A little bit about my very best friend. 🤍

Jared is my model when I need to test the lighting.

The one who charges and packs up all my equipment.

The one who will always, always go the extra mile for anything, anyone.

He taught me how to use a camera.

I love the way he lights up when he finds something cool on his drone. Or when he gets an amazing shot. Or when he finds a cool bug. Or sees a cool car.

He wakes up with the littles when I've been up late editing.

He is so talented, loyal, genuine, giving, fun. He sees people. Hears people. There have been times when I was so exhausted between having a baby and running a business that I couldn't keep doing both. He found a way to keep things in motion long enough to push us through.

He has dreams that are grand and soulful, and I know he will achieve them.

Faith and Fire wouldn't be here without him. He is a mastermind at his craft and a friend to every single person he meets. I am so blessed to be loved by him.

Ethan and Molly have a love that is deep, pure, honest, and easy. The way they look at each other is unlike any we've seen in the years of photographing lovers. It isn't forced, it is soulful and kind and knowing. It's like they feel understood and truly known. And really, all these words, yet it doesn't come close. It is a blessing to witness.

This was such a fun, kind, gorgeous group of ladies. One of my favorite things about my job is to see my couples with their people. To get to capture those relationships is so special to me, and if you know my story at all, you know why!

Best friends should be celebrated and treasured, documented as much as possible. Thinking of my bestie in heaven today and everyday! I hope you all have the opportunity to have the kind of friends that are really more like family. 🤍

Part 1 of what will be many love letters to this sweet, sweet couple.

Yesi and Adam spent a couple of days with us at Big Bend. Well, moreso we spent a couple days with them. It was our first time and their many-eth time. They put us up in the cutest airbnb, and we hiked up a mountain at sunrise, Adam's croc got stuck in mud, we got to see a Mexican vaquero wrangle his cattle, more beautiful scenery than I ever thought would be possible in Texas, and spent a lot of time laughing and even tearing up a few times.

I really could write for hours about our two-ish days together. It was an honor to spend our time with them and to witness a love that is deep, patient, honest, and allows for one another to be completely themselves. It was and will forever be one of our most cherished trips. And selfishly, I am really glad we get to be the ones who photograph their wedding day in the fall. What a dream to witness two beautiful people deeply and honestly in love.

Hoping for many more opportunities to adventure with these two. 🤍

Today, we are scouting and photographing a beautiful engagement session in Colorado.

Yesterday, we flew into CO.

The day before that I drove 8 hours round trip for a beautiful beach elopement at Port Aransas.

Two days before that, we flew back home from Baltimore.

What a beautiful life to be able to spend time with amazing people in beautiful places. We prayed for this life, and we are so grateful to be where we are.

I knowww I've shared a couple of these before, but can you blame me?! The handoff is one of the most symbolic parts of a wedding ceremony, and all the emotions surrounding it gets us every single time. 🤍

1. Ask the coordinator the rules: typically, they will come find us before we find them, but if not, we always ask! Different churches have different rules and we always want to respect their wishes and ensure the wedding ceremony is smooth. This is also our opportunity to ask how to get to the balcony view if there is one and see if they know of any hidden gems we could take the couple to post ceremony! 👀 2. I always bring a softbox with me to every wedding, but I make sure it is super handy for church ceremonies. It's quick to grab and setup post ceremony, so we can knock out those family portraits quickly and make sure they are beautiful memories for the family. Churches are notorious for not having adequate lighting for portraits, so we have to be prepared! ✨ 3. Brides' side always! For lead and second shooter. I am in the front aisle and Jared is at the back. We will have a clear shot of the groom when the bride is walking down the aisle and so the bride sees her groom first, and not my big head blocking her view of him (more on this later!) Plus, we aren't in each other's shots when we are on the same side. 🙌 4. As a church ceremony, this is a holy space, this isn't some photo op that we should haphazardly interject ourselves into. If you are a photographer, please consider not standing directly in front of the groom or in the middle of the aisle while the bride is walking down. We don't do that because we want the aisle to be clear so the bride and groom can have their moment without us in the middle of it all. We do occasionally (when the church allows) go down the center of the aisle once the ceremony has begun, but we do so stealthily, quietly, and low enough we aren't blocking the guests' view.🤍 A couple bonus tips: If there is a balcony, use it! Have your second shooter grab those first kiss and recessional pics from above! We have our couple give a kiss (dip kisses are always welcome) at the end of the aisle! I hope this helps you pla
