Tie Days is celebrating its ninth year for this event in the quiet fishing town of Shady Cove, situated along the scenic Rogue River. Tie Days began in 2009 as a celebration of dads over the Father’s Day weekend. Since neckties were the customary holiday gift in years past, that became the event’s signature. Thousands of neckties now adorn all of the old oak trees at the event site, Shady Kate’s B

outique. It is a Highway 62 spectacle not to be missed! Since June weather is unpredictable and damp in Southern Oregon, the event was rescheduled to occur always the weekend just before Labor Day to insure better weather. The town will host an outdoor faire with over 90 vendor booths, live blues/rock musicians, a local craft beer bar, various raffles and silent auctions, and even a bubble gum blowing contest. This year it will continue with its canned preserves competition “You’re The Jam", with Eagle Point Mayor Bob Russell, and other surprise judges. Prizes are presented based on taste, consistency, and presentation.
