My heart is overflowing with gratitude!🥰
Yesterday’s meal donations were a beautiful success, even with the rain pouring down. We came together to feed 8 families—37 wonderful individuals—with a homemade dinner that was made with love. Easy yeast rolls, tangy and sweet cran-apple compote, succulent grilled then roasted pork tenderloin, rich gravy made from drippings, creamy mashed potatoes, vibrant roasted veggies, sparkling cider, and a delightful dessert to top it all off! And we included disposables for easy cleanup—every little detail mattered!❤️
I’m especially thankful for the incredible generosity of our community. So many people signed up to donate all the things we needed for these meals!! You helped more than you know and we’re grateful! An amazing baker named Michael reached out and donated his scrumptious quick breads, cookies, and pies. His kindness added such sweetness to our meal!🥧
Food insecurity can touch anyone’s life for countless reasons—be it medical expenses, family emergencies, or job loss. No family should ever have to face hunger, especially our precious children. They deserve the nourishment they need to flourish in school and to focus on their dreams without the worry of when their next meal will come.🙏🏽
Thank you from the depths of my heart for being part of this journey. Together, we’re spreading love, peace, and joy throughout our community; one meal at a time!💪🏽

I’m using the tools I have to help families who are hurting right now. Growing up I knew what it felt like to be hungry — no child should ever know that feeling, and no parent should have to worry about how they’re going to feed their children. Life can change in an instant, often in ways we can’t control. But if you’re in a position to help your neighbors, please do. Every act of kindness makes a difference.❤️

Last night I provided a pasta spread for a softball team of 20! It was so much fun getting it all together with my big kid being my sous. She did an amazing job, especially on the boards! And she managed to get a few shots.❤️

My Passion for Food
I left Trinidad when I was 15, coming from very humble beginnings. My grandmother first taught me about the importance of preparing and sharing food. We had a garden and she raised chickens. Sometimes she would go fish while she watched over a beach house. Growing up near the ocean and appreciating what was grown and caught was very important. Somehow, my grandmother always cooked enough food to share. Friends and family can stop by guaranteed to get a plate of food from her sweet hands, which is a compliment to someone who cooks delicious food. As I got older I had to take on the responsibility of cooking meals for my siblings while my parents worked to provide for us. It gave me great joy using what was available and creating something new each time. My mother was then, and still known for her sweet hands as well. She has taught me a few of her secrets especially when making some of my favorite meals. She always reminded me to cook with LOVE!
Finally, we migrated to America in 1999 for a better life. I was especially excited about seeing so many different kinds of food in NY. Even though we enjoyed the abundance of products from the Caribbean I was hungry for more. I eventually joined the Navy where I travelled and got to experience a variety of different cultures and of course the food! I remember one time our ship pulled into the Congo and we were able to go help a small community build a school and they then cooked lunch for us. Every ingredient used was something I recognized from Trinidad, (if you know its history). It was absolutely delicious and I was happy to share that experience with a few of the friends I served with. It is during my time in service where I also met my husband!
Fast forward; I decided that after my enlistment was over, I would go to culinary school. It was a great learning opportunity and some amazing friendships were formed. I always knew that food would be a huge part of my life. I enjoy bringing people together not just to eat but to really enjoy the food and share stories about the meal; which gives you a glimpse of where that person comes from. I also love teaching my two girls about food and to appreciate it. It is truly an experience!
My cooking is not limited to Trinidadian food but from my travels during my time in the Navy and then culinary school. This business is dedicated to my grandmother and mom as they have taught me so much and to always go above and beyond!
