The reason behind the business
Hello everyone, my name is Lisa Mullen. I was raised in Adams County Ohio and now reside in Clinton County Ohio. I have a wonderful husband and three sons and two amazing granddaughters. I was raised on a farm and learned the true value of hard work. Until about four years ago, I had always worked outside the home but then I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and could no longer work a nine to five job. That was something I was not used to. My husband kept telling me to get a hobby but nothing appealed to me. I wanted to do something to keep myself busy but never could think of anything. One day, my son and I went to a craft show at the local school. One of the vendors at the show had these beautiful flower arrangements and I instantly fell in love with them. I went home and researched all that I could about the sola wood flowers. After getting my first shipment of flowers and creating my first centerpiece, I knew this was something I wanted to do on a regular bases. It is very rewarding seeing an arrangement, wreath, bouquet or whatever you can dream up using the flowers. I loved it so much I even started to make flowers myself. It’s a work in progress.
My business partner is my mother whom is also my best friend. She has always dabbled in arts and crafts and is a big help to me. She gives me her honest opinions, sometimes too honest, but I would not want it any other way. She is the candle maker in this business. Her candles are unique and made with healthy ingredients. It is great having each other to bounce ideas off of and keep each other grounded. It’s nice to be there for each other.
The behind the scenes guys are my husband Greg and oldest son Justin. They do all the woodwork for me and come up with some great ideas. My youngest son Ethan helps me with flower arranging ideas. And has helped me stem a few flowers. My middle son Dylan helps out by being supportive. I could not have moved forward in my journey without the help and support from my wonderful family.
