The Black Women's Expo

Dear MGPG Events and BWe Family,

Last Saturday night, the MGPG Events team, in partnership with the Chicago Urban League, produced one of the largest Golden Fellowship Dinner Galas on record. With more than 2,300 in attendance, McCormick Place undoubted transformed in a landscape of Black excellence!

From the moment the doors opened at the VIP reception, I knew that night would be magical! Fantasia brought the fire and energy per usual and more than $4 million was raised in support of the League's programs and initiatives!

I extend my heartfelt thanks to Karen Freeman-Wilson President and CEO of the Chicago Urban League and Gala chair Toi Salter for trusting me to infuse my vision into what has forever been the most highly anticipated black-tie affair in Chicago. The team (many pictured above), led by chair Toi Salter was a blast to work with, and I admired their determination to "get it right" on every level!

Oh and did I mention all of this amazement happened on my birthday?!?! I think I deserve a t-shirt or something that says "I Survived GFD!" But in all seriousness, thank for the countless birthday wishes and all of the "y'all did that" messages! I'm exhausted but filled with joy!

I am gonna get some rest then get back in the game. After all, BWe will be here before we know it! Talk soon!

Well, we did it! The 29th Annual Black Women's Expo is officially in the books! (INSERT HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!)

Words can hardly capture my gratitude for the love and support received as I talk myself into doing this year after year!

Thank you to our sponsors, exhibitors, presenters, performers, attendees and my fabulous team for helping bring a shared vision of excellence to life.

Special thanks to the team at McCormick Place, elected officials for cutting the ribbon on year 29 and Mayor Brandon Johnson for his unwavering support of the mission of BWe.
