We had a truly enchanted weekend - full of exceptional cars, once in a lifetime opportunities, and some of the most joy-filled and authentic automotive enthusiasts in the country. We've photographed a lot of concours events over the years, and this one combines much of the best bits of each one into a wonderful automotive weekend. Chris Brewer and the whole Hilton Head Concours team really knocked it out of the park! If you've never been, better mark your calendar for 2025! So thankful to lead the official photography team for the event - and couldn't have done it without the superb work of Joshua Sweeney (Shoot for Details) and Marcelo Murillo (Marcelo Murillo Photography).

Okay, we're stumped. Last night, we were near the south end of Amelia Island, photographing at around sunset when Bryn spotted this odd round shape, high in the southern sky - almost directly above us. As far as scale, it appeared several times larger than the brightest stars or planets do in our sky. This is an unedited 400% zoom of the photo, taken with our 400mm lens. Our first thought was a weather-type balloon, but the odd thing was it didn't appear to move in the 15 minutes we observed it. There were upper-level cirrostratus clouds in the area as well, but they drifted east, while the object stayed in the same place. It did seem like it was higher than those clouds - so probably above 30k feet. The organic appearance of the structure seems odd - almost like a jelly fish. Anyone aware of any weather balloons or other such high-flying objects that look like this?

The eclipse is still two days away, but it seems providence had a little celestial teaser for us on Friday morning! We were in Tampa for a shoot, and ventured out to the bay to get some sunrise photos for our friends at Avis, only to discover a serpentine twin set of noctilucent clouds from a pre-dawn rocket launch from Kennedy Space Center. Talk about glorious!
