The Rocky Mountains have some incredible locations for a wedding, or any event. This wedding overlook location just outside Estes Park was nothing short of breath taking. Once we were finished setting up the ceremony location, we took a step back to look at the finished project and the DJ was setting up his gear just to the left of this frame and no knowing what he was doing, he started playing John Denver’s Rocky Mountain high. I’ll be honest, it was an emotional moment. This view and moment is a memory keeper. Enjoy….

I thought it was a good time for an introduction.

I’m Debbie, owner of Paper Heart Productions and I have always had a passion for plants and flowers. My ah-ha moment came one day while at my corporate day job – I needed to be a florist! That moment instantly took me back to when I was a youngster and did volunteer work at the local hospital. The absolute best part of that work was delivering flowers to a patients’ room and seeing how the magic of flowers put a smile someone’s face when they needed it the most. Flowers make people happy.

Fast forward to today, I germinate and grow over 40 different types of specialty cut flowers. When I’m in the gardens, I’m in a place where I completely belong. A place to witness the wonders of nature and a time for introspection.

I previously worked in the music industry as both a production assistant for the Beach Boys, and a stagehand in the late 80’s for some of the most popular musical acts at that time. Think of your favorite 80’s band, and chances are I was part of a team that made a night of kick ass music possible. Physically, it was extremely hard work but equally rewarding. Bands are a perfect example of absolute teamwork. Each musician has a specific role to play and it’s the coming together of each musician that produces an amazing final product that touches people’s heart and soul.

As a florist, I exercise this same concept. I’m part of a team working towards a common goal of making a most memorable event for you and your family. I create floral works from the heart that enhance a space, elevate an event, and most certainly to evoke a range of emotions.

I’m so grateful for my customers and the trust they have in my work.

We’re working on some dried floral pieces for a few customers. Nothing says autumn like gold. The colors here are inspired by the incredible colors of fall here in Colorado. Every season has its beauty.

During the growing season, I spend early mornings waking up with beautiful flowers, harvesting the days blooms and such. At the end of each day, I enjoy my time in the gardens, for silence, self reflection, and appreciation. Now, with cooler mornings and shorter days, it’s a reminder that the flowers will be gone and soon I will spend time putting the beds to rest for the season. While many flowers continue to bloom, they are slowing down production and producing seeds for next year. I will miss the excitement of going into the gardens and seeing who has arrived! For now, I’ll enjoy these cute little sunny marigolds!
