Swooning over Lisianthus yet again 💜 Harvested over 300 of these blooms yesterday and they just keep coming! These are by far one of my favorite flowers to grow every year. Whenever a Bride says they don’t like roses, these are my go to! Delicate beauties and shining stars of any bouquet - You just can’t go wrong with them! Tough to start from seed, but worth it in the end 😍

Today’s the day! We’re back in action 🥰 The Flower Stand will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-9pm until mid-October. It’s self serve so you can swing by and grab a $20 bouquet without hassle. Cash, PayPal, Venmo and CashApp accepted. A new addition to the farm 🤩 For years we’ve been using a small space in the basement as a “walk-in cooler” with an ancient floor style A/C unit. We made the best of it, but it was time for an upgrade. We finally pulled the trigger and built the real deal this week! Big shout out to the best unpaid employee in the world for helping me with yet another ridiculous project 💕I don’t think he realized what he was getting himself into when we got married almost 10 years ago 🤣

So much progress this week 💪 I’ve been putting this project off for almost 2 months now, but finally decided to tackle it! 4 new beds, 250 Lillies planted and tons of sunflowers on the horizon🌻 I obviously let the Lilly bulbs sit a little too long in the cooler, but it is what it is. 🤷‍♀️ Fingers crossed they survive and thrive! 🌸

I can’t believe how well our ranunculus are doing! 🌺 Last year I decided to dig up the corms to reuse them rather than buying new ones like we’ve always done in the past. I didn’t have high hopes, but OH MY what a sweet surprise 😍 I think they may be prettier this year than they were last year! Can’t wait to share these beauties at the this Saturday along with thousands of our peonies! 🙌

A fellow flower farmer friend of mine had a customer reach out about flowers she bought from her the other day. She said she was disappointed that her tulips opened up so quickly and thought that they were on their way out. We got to chatting and realized that not many people may know that tulips open during the day and close at night in the vase as they do outside when in the ground. Though it may seem like their petals are on the verge of falling off in the morning/afternoon light, they actually hold up for 7-10 days in the vase if kept in the proper conditions. Did you know that cut flowers thrive when kept out of direct sunlight and their ends are snipped on a daily basis? If you give them just a little TLC, I promise you they’ll return the favor with their beauty for many days!

Has anyone else ever tried cinnamon as a rooting hormone? 🌱 I usually use the store bought stuff, but thought I’d give cinnamon a shot on my scented geranium cuttings. Fingers crossed it works 🤞 It’s been about a 5 days without any new growth so I’m skeptical 🤨

The parrot tulips are poppin’! This is our first time growing this variety and I really like it! It’s called Cabana. I pulled one yesterday and immediately put it into an arrangement (which of course I forgot to take a picture of before our sweet friend picked it up to gift to her friend). It was beautiful and was the icing…on top of the bouquet 😝 Can’t wait to put these in our Easter bouquets this weekend!

For those who know me well, you know my favorite food is pickles. My cousin absolutely hates them so of course I send her pickle related messages all of the time.

Today, she surprised me with the most amazing joke that she spotted while at the fabric store (of all places 😂 ). A pickle inspired flower joke?!? Yes, please!!!

I couldn’t resist sharing it with you all! I also threw in a picture of one of her kiddos expressing his feelings for pickles, too. Believe it or not, we get along really well even though I’ve always said “You can’t trust a person who doesn’t like pickles”.

Does anyone else have a weird obsession with pickles? Why are they so good?!?

(Also, ALWAYS accepting pickle and/or flower jokes 😉)
