How do you picnic at a concert?

For us, we do it like this! And then some.
So, this Wednesday, Roland and I are heading to Ravinia Festival to see Robert Plant & Alison Krauss. It should be a fantastic show (as always). We love going there every year to see someone. It's hard to explain the experience, except your in a different world for the night. I hope you have had the pleasure of going there over the years.

This time, I'm especially excited to show off the lovely Moroccan basket we're selling for the local Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra Summer Festival! I love how The Goddess and The Gatherer picked some items for our curated picnic baskets that can be reused for years to come. For anything!

For instance, the plates, the cloth napkins (featured here as well), the wine glasses, and the blanket, to name a few. It was important to us to use a few sustainable pieces so you can create good memories and when you use them again, you will remember the fun you had.

I think of my Mom every day. I think of her on Mother's Day. But I think of her especially when I work in my gardens. In 1992 she gifted me with this book and wrote something so endearing that will forever be something I think of.
Thank you Mom for sharing your love for beautiful gardens and for making special memories pop in my head while I tend to mine.

These days, we are still creating memories every three weeks when we go to her treatment. So thank you Mom for sharing your time with me and for still sharing all your memories.

Spent the day prepping for the Munster Chamber of Commerce Shop Small Crawl!

In celebration of National Small Business Day, we invite you to crawl around town and support our great small business chamber members.
Stop by each business for shopping, discounts, complimentary samples & FUN on Saturday, May 11th, 10am - 2pm.
Visit each shop and fill out your passport card for an entry into our incredible raffle basket drawing with items donated by each of the 20 participating businesses - a value of OVER $2,000!!!
Passports with 10 or more stickers can be turned in no later than 3pm to 313 Taproom, 313 Ridge Road. The raffle drawing will take place at 4pm.

What do you do when you cannot sleep?
I just get up and get busy (no matter what crazy time in the morning it is).
As the day begins and it’s getting lighter out, it seems we have rain heading our way. So I decided to run out and take some pix of my Miss Kims that are beginning to bloom today. I hated to miss out if the rain knocks them around. And then, of course, I needed to bring some of that goodness in the house. And the Lilies of the Valley are in full bloom so I captured a quick pic of some of them. They also smell so good. Love SPRING!
And then the 13 large ferns I purchased yesterday, are rain-ready. Can’t wait to get them in their Summer spot.

This morning I had the pleasure of restaging a friend's beautiful home in Olympia Fields. It is my jam! (well, one of them anyway)

I am so bad at remembering to take before pictures. I suppose it's because I get so excited and want to dig in. But then as soon as I finish a vignette, I remember. So there are a few photos here of just the finished product. Not too many before.

I love Betti's colorful art pieces. It's so cheerful. So not me (IYKYK) which makes it super fun. So that just proves that it doesn't have to be my taste to be able to help a client.

Looking forward to going back to work on a couple more rooms.🦚🌺🌿

It hurts me to have to lob off branches from my lovely bushes. But I keep telling myself that it is good for them. It's like tough love. Asian Spice is one of my favorite Spring fragrances. And besides, they look pretty in my house.

It's time to design floral arrangements for The Goddess and The Gatherer March Dinner - Winter Comfort. Yesterday I walked around the yard, clipped spent plants, and gathered branches.
I'm so drawn to the beauty of nature even in this state. I think these will go well with my handmade pottery. Especially the vintage olive jar.
