The Dia de Los Mu***os celebration in Decatur, Alabama, began in 2022, making this year’s event the third annual celebration. This community event, organized through collaboration among the Alabama Center for the Arts, the City of Decatur, the Princess Theater, and local organizations, has quickly become a cherished tradition. The celebration highlights Hispanic culture with art, music, traditional food, and family-friendly activities, including a community altar for honoring departed loved ones

Finally got the blog updated with our Disney World trip! We had a blast despite Hurricane Milton forcing us to cut our vacation 2 days short.

A little late to the party, but went out to my driveway and got a photo of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS).

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is a long-period comet discovered independently by the Purple Mountain Observatory in China and ATLAS South Africa in early 2023. It made its closest approach to the Sun (perihelion) on September 27, 2024 at a distance of 0.39 AU, and is expected to reach its peak brightness around October 9, 2024 with a magnitude of approximately -3. The comet originates from the distant Oort Cloud and completes an orbit approximately every 80,000 years, making its current visit a rare celestial event.

Amanda had her grand opening and ribbon cutting yesterday at the studio! Seeing all the support from the community was really awesome. The office ended up being packed out! I'm super proud of how far she's come on her photography journey and it's awesome seeing her dreams come true! Love you honey!
