We'll, it's been a minute since I've been here! Let's take a look back at some of the freelance/fun jobs I did last year. First, the exhibit , where I was paired with Louise Bourgeois' spider sculpture and won the people's choice Most Creative award (the judges were less than thrilled with it-it apparently wasn't spidery enough, although the brief was not to copy the artwork, but to reinterpret it). I'm also sharing a bit of the work I produced for floral friends and .

Some highlights from our recent trip to Puglia! Such gorgeous landscapes, friendly people who didn't laugh at my Italian, delicious food and wine: it utterly destroyed us (in the best way possible). Always love our time spent in Europe, and looking forward to the day when "going home" means going there.

Just back from a week spent in Amsterdam, visiting flower wholesalers and growers, learning some new floral design skills, gawking at the beautiful architecture, and stopping and smelling the flowers. I got in a bit of cycling as well!

Here's my entry in last weekend's exhibit I've wanted to work with this sculpture (Spider II by ) since this event began 6 years ago, and I finally got her! I really loved how this turned out: kinda weird, a little creepy, a little pretty, and slightly beginning to decay by the end of the weekend (on purpose). Thanks to everyone who visited the museum to see all the arrangements and especially to those who helped me win People's Choice Best Creative Design!
