I give all my couples an encouraging little pep talk at the beginning of their session. I encourage them to flirt, focus on each other, be themselves and I give them permission to be silly and have fun with each other! Well, these two did just that and the results were so DREAMY 🥹

This day was so special and I love how intentional they were throughout planning each aspect of the day. From my sister using my mom’s veil, my mom making a big pan of her famous lasagna instead of catering, my uncle officiating, to exchanging private vows on the trail they went for lots of walks on when first dating. Every part of this day was personal. They got married where it mattered most to them, surrounded by close family and friends and, thanks to torrential downpours, quite literally chose to dance in the rain 🥹

A few of my favorite moments from Olivia + Drew’s wedding day 🤍
I’m a big sap. I cry a lot and especially while I’m shooting weddings. There was a specific moment from their day though that really stuck with me. While the bride, Olivia, was getting ready. She was looking in the mirror just admiring herself in her dress and veil. Breathing in those final moments before stepping into forever with a husband by her side. As she was looking at herself, she started to cry. I asked her what she was feeling and she said something that resonated with me, “Its just kinda sad. I’m an only child and I’ve had this last name my whole life and now I’m going to change it. It’s just this happy kind of grieving the loss of a version of yourself.” I completely understood what she meant and had actually felt that before and after getting married. It’s a lot of emotions and no one really talks about it.
So not to be all hippy dippy but… to all the people getting married soon, don’t just drink and joke your way through all of the hard but beautiful moments. Lean into them!

Over the last few months or so, I decided to go back to my roots and wanted to start shooting more on film again 🎞️
When I was in college, the first two years were entirely film. I didn’t touch a digital camera (in my classes at least) until my junior year 😳
Film is a game of patience and I love that it forces me to be so intentional about every shot.

The moments during your wedding day go by so quickly, it’s important to carve out 5 minutes here and there to just slow down and take it all in. During timeline calls with all of my couples, we figure out the best way to do this for your unique wedding day needs.

Senior sessions are always a fun time! Ana was super laidback and just told me she wanted to take them in this clearing near her house that she enjoys spending time at. It was in the middle of the woods and sheesh, I was not at all prepared for the golden hour we witnessed there. It was so much fun to just listen to music and run around the field together. Haven’t done a senior session in a while and this one made me realize how much I miss them!

I’ve been working so hard on this and it truly does feel a lot more like me than my current website. It’s far more user friendly and will allow me to serve my couples that much better. Not to mention, it looks a lot prettier haha. I can’t wait for you guys to see it 👏🏼☺️

Guys, THAT is the whole heart and purpose behind what I do. I know I’ve only been married for a few months but marriage and relationships are freaking hard. One day, whether it’s in the first year or the tenth year, you will roll over in your bed and see your spouse asleep, morning breath, messy hair, and you’ll just stare at them wondering “who even are you?”, you will face really hard things together.
Marriage is also really beautiful and there's so much joy to be found, and the hard things we face with our spouses only make the joyful moments that much more meaningful.
So please, I beg of you, do not hire someone just because they gave you a good deal or because they have a good camera. Hire someone who cares about your relationship and someone who is mindful of the valleys you two will inevitably face and how they can help remind you of why you chose each other in the first place.

Indoor studio sessions have been my jam lately!!
In the winter months, I tend to have less weddings and sessions. By the time spring comes around, I am itching to get back out there and create with you guys!
But recently… I discovered how much I LOVE indoor sessions and how creative they allow me to be, even when the weather sucks.
