A couple of weeks ago I competed in the North Central Florist Association's Designer of the Year competition held at the Minnesota State Fair.
After submitting two arrangements, my scores qualified me for the final round - a mystery box style design competition held on stage in front of an audience...with 30 minutes to design ( the piece in the first photo.) I placed 4th overall.

The best parts though? The camaraderie with fellow flower friends, and receiving a professional critique from the judges. I learn so much about who I am as a designer and ways to improve my skills.

Thanks to for her tireless efforts to wrangle us all into an amazing floral design showcase and competition. And many thanks to everyone and for the partnership and commitment to this event.
