Did you know that, in what seems like another life, I was in school to be a Dental Hygienist?
Life is funny that way. You can be running in one direction one day, and bam, life. It has you questioning everything. In this case it was a break-up after 8 years and the death of my dad, in a 3 month span. It was a hard chapter.
But it made me take a moment to re-evaluate my path. Before I knew it I was in culinary school. 9 years, a hip replacement, femur fracture, spine surgery, and a TREMENDOUS amount of hard work later, here we are. Spreading LOVE and Joy through Food! You never know what God has planned for you. You just have to keep in mind that He is with you in all of it. Even in the valleys.

PLEASE MAKE IT A PRIORITY TO MAKE SURE YOUR ANIMALS ARE INSIDE OR GIVEN SHADE AND FRESH ICE WATER EVERY HOUR OR TWO.
It's 90° so far and feels like 103°. The high is supposed to be 102° By that logic it may feel 115°. PLEASE PRAY for the outside animals and people!!

I hope everyone has a fun, free feeling, belly filled, Independence Day!! 💚

As for me, I will HAVE THE DAY OFF 💃🏼, grill some burgers and dogs, lay in my baby pool, and hopefully see “Sound of Hope” at the theater! I may even watch an outdoor movie at the house if I’m really feeling froggy. 🐸 🙃

We just switched up our Amazon menu a little, starting last night, and folks seem to be loving it! The beef tips were LOVED by many so it was a risk changing it up, but I may have found another winner for them.

I’m just sitting here in awe of how good God is. This year God is truly blessing BytheGrace. We have had more referrals & inquiries, and more that turn into caters, than ever before. In fact, we had 5 people tag us in a post asking for caterers for EWHS’s Alumni dinner. Then, this morning I did not want to get out of bed and go to the early water aerobics class, but something (or someone) made me get up and get it done. There, I met a lady wanting a caterer for her family reunion and even better, a lady asked me if I would share my testimony at an event in September. And that my friends is what you call a divine appointment. The past five & a half years of persistence, long hours, near mental breakdowns, living outside of my comfort zone, learning every day, and HARD work are really starting to pay off. It just hit me, sitting in the car outside of class. I started to cry. God says do your part, I’m doing mine. And He is. I planted the seeds He gave me and now they are bearing fruit. I’m just so incredibly grateful this morning. SO, my 2 cents this morning…PLANT THE SEEDS!! And then be patient, gardens don’t pop up the day the seed is planted.

I'm trying really hard to be that "me" that I want to be. The one I know I can be. SO I'm doing a thing. A thing WAY out of my comfort zone. This August I will be a counselor at Royal Family Kids Camp. A camp for kids in the foster system. I'm completely intimidated but I feel God calling me here, so HERE I GO!! Y'all pray for me please. While camp is still 2 months away, I have a LOT of mental, spiritual, and physical preparation to do. Today we are having our 2nd training day, as part of the preparation. Always remember that even if you feel you can't, God can.

Food Lion has THE BEST Green Leaf Lettuce, hands down! Way better than the restaurant suppliers and the fancy grocery stores. I'll make this extra stop every time for our salads to be top-notch! Gi-normous!

Back in 2018 I was told it was finally time for a hip replacement and that I needed to intake lots of protein (something I'm not great at) before surgery to get my muscles strong, and after, to help the traumatized muscles repair. So I started eating 2 boiled eggs and drinking a pre-made protein shake every day. My hair grew 5 inches longer than ever before and was gorgeous and healthy. And I'm sure it helped my muscles too. 😂
I've found that pre-boiling a dozen and putting 2 into these cute little snack bags ensures that I get my protein on. Try it out! 2 eggs = 10g of protein. My chocolate shake from Costco adds another 30! So I can get ALL the protein I need before lunch. And if you want to skip 1/2 the fat, just toss one of your yolks.

As we fill our bellies, dye and hunt eggs, lets not forget the real reason for today. God sent His only son to die a horrible death so that WE could be in constant relationship with Him. The devil thought he had won, BUT He rose!! 🙌🏼

Additional note: My daddy went to be with Jesus 11 years ago today. It was Easter Sunday, 3/31/13.

Yesterday we did our first Baby Shower. A rock n roll baby shower at Circa 1888 in Raleigh! 🎵🎶 Our contribution to the party was Smoked Out Hendricks Wings & Kid Rock's Bawitdaba Bang Bang Shrimp. Whewwww they were good! As was everything else!
Y'all keep us in mind for your next event! ANY EVENT, we do them all. Next on my cater bucket list is a girl's night in Bachelorette Party! Who's got one coming up?!
