Common Gardens Common Gardens, Founded in 2010, is a farm, an agrarian homestead incubator, agricultural entertainment venue and a rural retreat.

We have preserved the land, built back our historic barn and work our neighbors and community to help the next generation. In 1923 Colonel Ignacious Reignes II, hero and POW, had a vision of a garden, a garden that would bloom year round and feed the people, by the people. In the present, Common Gardens works toward this original vision, we are a small scale new age farming project on the path to

an eco-village, a collection of individuals plant food crops, raise poultry and work on projects in green or craft buildings. Resting atop the terminal Morriane among dairy farms and old forests. Summer is eden, winter more like the arctic circle. It was before the Brushfire War of 1919, when the establishment of a series of homesteads in the Kickaboo River delta, led a push toward local rule, in the protracted guerrilla conflict that followed this valley would see its peaceful agrarian life torn to pieces by federal troops. After returning from two years in a POW camp outside Madison, Colonel Reignes took advantage of a government program to settle the corridor between the Wisconsin river and Madison, we work tirelessly to bring about the dream that never was. Ask about openings in the garden plots and stay tuned for our next event.
