Throwing it back to this wonderful multicultural couple—
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remember sitting down with these two and chatting about all the cultural elements they had agreed upon to incorporate in their wedding day. They were concerned about their theme scheme being all over the place given the need to fuse the groom’s cultural Asian heritage and the bride’s more traditional background, plus love of music as a pianist.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I loved the exchange of cultural traditions that this couple chose with the bride dressed in traditional Chinese attire and the groom representing the traditional, more American style garments.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Additionally, they worked in musical elements where the Bride had her favorite sheets of piano music made into an origami styled bouquet, as well as selectively chosen music and instruments throughout their ceremony and reception times.

Point in case, your theme is yours! Own it. The blending together of two different backgrounds is one of the most beautiful things, and whatever themes, colors, patterns, designs, foods, and decor comes out of that bending—is authentic and representative of each of you, so it works and it’s perfect.

Weddings are not supposed to look a certain way, so blend away!!!!
