My number one advice for the Mother of the Bride would be to be present on the wedding day. Often, moms focus on making sure everything is perfect and that all the guests are having a great time. Instead, prioritize enjoying the day with your daughter and savor every moment, otherwise you’ll wish you did.

10 years married, 10 things we’ve learned
1. Your spouse is the only one that should hold the “best friend” title. The only one that knows every single thing about you, the one you share your joys and concerns with
2. Sometimes love is a decision, it’s not always a feeling
3. Your marriage is first. One of the best gifts you can give your kids is the example of a good marriage
4. Most small things are worth overlooking… don’t sweat the small stuff. Nagging and negativity, ain’t nobody got time for that
5. Don’t leave things unresolved. Resentments loves to sneak in and destroy marriages. Talk things over effectively, with compassion and understanding
6. Pray together, study the word together, fight this spiritual war together. The enemy is out to kill and destroy. He hates marriage, it was God’s idea
7. Keep the romance alive as much as you possibly can. The random butt slaps, kisses and hugs. Make love and lots of it, with your spouse and your spouse only
8. Create a life TOGETHER. Learn to make your time together enjoyable and something you look forward to
9. Serve each other mutually, put the other before yourself always
10. Marriage is made up of two imperfect sinners. Have grace. Lots of it.

I know you may have heard that before but knowing it and actually practicing it in the toughest times in your marriage makes a significant difference. Cupid won’t strike you every time you feel like you are falling out of love. Remember your wedding day vows and strive to uphold what you promised!
