At the end of December, as we ushered out 2023 and welcomed in 2024, we said we had exciting things to share in the coming months, well, here we go. We just finished launching our first online store. This project was part of the $25,000 Enhancement grant we were awarded from the Backing Small Businesses program presented by , in partnership with . As we say goodbye to 2023 and welcome in 2024, it’s a fitting time to say “thank you.” Thank you for pulling us through a year filled with more downs than ups; thank you for donning mud boots and gloves to help us clean out after the July flood; thank you for your kind, caring and heartfelt words and messages; thank you for supporting our rebuilding efforts; and thank you for being YOU! A community near and far that touched our hearts, gave us hope, strength and purpose. 2024 will be a rebuilding year for us and we have exciting things to announce in the coming months.

The current state of our store. 😪 With the heavy rain and melting snow we are back under a flood watch. Our basement is flooding and we have moved inventory up and built sandbag walls. We are hoping to be back in operation soon.

We are so happy to be involved in this lighting project. Our part of this project is supported by the American Express Backing Small Businesses Enhancement Grant Program, presented by American Express and Main Street America. We are excited to share part of this grant money with Montpelier Alive.

Our Facebook post of the gorgeous enhanced lighting this year got so many likes and shares, we wanted to let everyone know how all the extra brightness (especially the Langdon Street Bridge) came together this winter, coordinated by Montpelier Alive.

The enhanced lighting came together with help from many -- AARP, Lyn Morris, Botanica Florals(who helped support our holiday decor with their American Express Backing Small Businesses Enhancement Grant, presented by American Express and Main Street America), Tim Heney, and The New England Holiday Light Company (who also design the spectacular light show at the Shelburne Museum).

Stroll around town and note the lampposts wrapped with garlands, the twinkling Langdon Street bridge with blue lights reflecting in the river (view from the Rialto Bridge), and some of our beloved downtown trees backlit with color.

Botanica Florals is proud to announce that we received a $25,000 Enhancement Grant from the Backing Small Businesses program presented by American Express, in partnership with Main Street America . We were among the 350 Backing Small Businesses grantees awarded $5,000 earlier this year, and now have been selected among 25 of the original grantees for an additional enhancement grant.

We are so honored to have received this grant. It will allow us to fully expand our online presence with the creation of an e-commerce site, purchase an additional floral cooler, and support the downtown Montpelier community with a donation to Montpelier Alive for holiday decorations and spring plantings.

We will be designing flower arrangements for a very large event and will need to close the shop Monday, November 6th through Thursday, November 9th. We will reopen on Friday, November 10th for regular hours. HAPPY news, we have heat!

Botanica Florals is reopening Monday, October 23rd at 10:00am. We are excited to welcome you into our newly renovated space! Still a few finishing touches to be added, but we’re ready to get back to work.

Progress! It feels so good to unpack, organize and design our store. There is still work to be done but we have accomplished so much in 4 days, we have been working so hard. We are still on target to reopen next week and will announce our reopening day very soon.

The dahlia flower represents change and transition, and we are doing both. We hope that this time next week our change and transition will be under way. We will transition back into our newly rebuilt store and change from remote work to back in our store work. It will be a bit before we can open our doors and welcome you in, but we are so excited for that day. Stay tuned as we hope to announce our reopening day very soon. This week we partnered with Montpelier Alive to bring these beautiful chrysanthemums to our downtown. They have been placed around the city, bringing much needed brightness and hope to all. Enjoy them as they bloom and show off their gorgeous colors in the next few weeks!
