For anyone contemplating Toast for their restaurant… DONT! They are great if you want a product that microcharges for everything and at the same time provides you NO support!! You can’t speak to anyone in the US and when they say they escalate to tier 2 you never get a response!!

Our bank account was hacked and I got a new checking account and toast won’t allow us to update our bank account and now I’m not getting our merchant credit card deposits! They take days to update emails and the department that handles this “does not have telephones” so you can speak to anyone.

Unlike small businesses you cannot leave them a review on Google or anything!

This company does NOT care about your business they only care about taking your money!! Do NOT use toast!!!

For a Chef/restaurant standpoint, people selling imitation items as real, Shame on you!! And the guy that runs that fish house that said “do you have any idea how many things are imitation” double, triple shame on you!!

At my restaurant, we are clear & honest! We use the best ingredients available like local dry diver scallops when I do scallop dishes! But we do use Japanese fish cakes which are processed, but we are clear about it on the menu!

Have pride in your menu, and your food! Don’t lie to your customers to make a profit!!

June 8th is a very difficult date for me... Anthony Bourdain was always larger than life to me... a superhero... he was the inspiration to follow my dreams and become a Chef, and I was devastated when he passed, and heart broken I never got to meet him in person.

After his passing, I found Chef Bourdain to be an inspirational mentor through his books, and tv shows. I realized that I had so much in common with Anthony, and as a Chef, I strive every single day to make Chef Bourdain proud.

The quote "You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together" is something I believe to be one of life's simplest truths. It doesn't matter anyone's race, s*x, religion, skin color or s*xual orientation... Food is universal and when you sit down to share a meal with friends or strangers... all that matters is the food.

So to honor a man that had such an impact on the culinary world, share a meal with someone new or someone you already know and learn something new about them.

Tonight I dined at Ivan Ramen. When I first started the planning for my ramen restaurant the first cook books I bought were those by Ivan Orkin and was intrigued by how much he did from scratch in house and that is what I focused on in my restaurant and as a Chef! I was blown away by the food and even more excited to meet the Chef himself! It was definitely a humbling and exciting celebrity moment!

Was blessed to be at the soft opening of Thai Taki in Winthrop. I am excited to say, another great restaurant from Restaurateur Jek Tofu. It was a great evening, the food was spot on, the restaurant was beautiful, and the servers were friendly and attentive! Overall a great experience and an amazing soft opening!

We tried so many items, but a few of the highlights were the unique and out of this world oysters, and the authentic Thai boat noodles!!

We made a trip to Brookline this week, and found something absolutely incredible. This hidden treasure is so unique, so incredible, and absolutely unbelievable. After some research, I found out it is a franchise, but regardless, it is so incredibly unique, and the owner Candace is so wonderful, that it is an absolute must for any foodie.

Some of the worlds finest oils, vinegars, spirits and liqueurs, all in beautiful casks. You are able to taste everything and choose beautiful glass bottles in various sizes for your purchases.

I am looking forward to my next trip to this beautiful shop!

My new custom made knife by David Singer with Singer Blade Works. Absolutely amazing, it is so beautiful, and masterfully crafted. I could not be more happy or pleased with the outcome, and it is perfectly balanced, and I cant wait to use it!
