What an incredible privilege for Pete and Anahla and Nishta to learn to scuba dive while we were in Belize over Christmas! on their last dive, Jassim and Thalia and I were snorkeling right above their heads! We saw nurse sharks, eagle spotted rays and they even saw a pair of moray eels!l They have joined me as PADI certified divers. Only Jassim and Thalia to go!

Jed is still going strong with 13 of his 14 dogs still on the trail with him! he made it into the new in the Dakotas today! He had his mandatory 24 hour break and is on his way again. If you want to see the race standing check out the Iditarod website at https://iditarod.com/race/2023/standings/

Pete and i had a much needed getaway to Nelson B.C. this past weekend just the two of us, with many miles of cross-country skiing, much good food consumed and many many hours of just talking, dreaming, planning, reflecting. Watch this space for further development of the Mycelium Collective!

Nishta found a giant agate geode in Kenutcky four years ago and we have never known quite what to do with it. In New Years day our friends Jesse and Marla were over for brunch and Jesse, who is a geologist, opened it up for us with a tile saw. Soooo exciting and rewarding to see such a beautiful rock revealed!

Warthogs are the best! they are hilarious to watch and all seem to have individual personalities. This guy ran at full tilt right past our car, covered from head to toe in mud!

My sister Suzie led us in a beautiful Solstice celebration where we sang and talked about the coming of the Light and all jumped over the fire to signify leaving the past year behind us and jumping into the new.

I deeply loved the special time and connection that I got to have with these two wonderful teenagers on our trip to South Africa in November. I feel like things were grown and cemented between the three of us that will always be there and am very grateful to all who helped make the trip happen.

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to go mushing for a day in the mountains with Stephensen, who is Iditarod bound in just a few weeks! I had one of the best days in my entire life, mushing with my own team of dogs. I was fascinated by the place that it led me into in my mind and soul and body... prayer, peace, expansive thoughts and realizations that I can't seem to access in every day life.
