We get this question a lot. After all, our feed shows diversity -yaay us. But does that mean we always know exactly what to?

DIY floral vs professional personal touches -we're hearing a lot about couples wanting to save money by doing floral themselves. We've seen the tiktoks on grabbing your florals from Sam's club or other big box stores..can you save AAAABSOLUTELY. Who doesn't like saving, but Is it the same? HELL NO! Not even close. My name is Albairys but I am mostly known as Abby! I am a spicy Latina, born and raised in Miami, Florida with Dominican roots. I have been in Michigan for a little over a year now, and working on finding my place here.
I work full time as a property manager, I am a current student, and I work with TLE!
4 years ago I embarked on a weight-loss journey that unbeknownst to me would turn into a beautiful road into self love. I am the person who will almost always give you my last bite, who would give you the shirt off my back, and will constantly pour into others but now, I also know how to do that for myself.

So you want an unplugged ceremony? Here's a couple tips
Chances are you've been to a wedding where someone just has to half stand/half bend to get a photo. Or maybe you've seen the person that steps out of the row to get a quick pic as the marrier is walking the aisle. Yep we feel you, as wedding planners we see it all to often.
It takes the focus off the newlywed's and makes the hired professional photographers job a little bit harder. So lets manage that!
1. Signage! This is something you can get creative with to show your guests you do not want to see phones during the ceremony. Make it match your sense of humor and your energy.
2. Make an announcement before the ceremony begins, typically done by your officiant) make it clear you do not want phones or other cameras in your wedding day photos.
3. Be sure to let us know- we will happily and gently tap out the disregarding guests.
***On the flip side we always encourage lots of phones out all reception long. Have a fun hashtag for your guests to use. The pictures are priceless.

After 10 plus 2 (thanks cov*d) years of marriage A & K had the wedding they had always dreamed of! Oooh oh! When we tell you this couple went through IT to get to the alter we ain't lyin'!
When they originally got married they were still finishing law school and starting their career path - money was tight so they had a small wedding with close friends and family. It had meaning and value- of course it did, just not the BOOM the couple would have wanted. So, they began dreaming up an I do take 2!
They had originally planned their vow renewal for their 10 year anniversary and then the world shut down. Add another two years and the day could not have been more hard earned or sweeter.
They renewed their commitment with their original pastor. It was as tender as it was real. It's one thing to be going into marriage with hopes and dreams and vows that are looking forward. It's a completely different conversation when you've been in it for a minute and already know what life can throw at you. The promise is deeper.
It would have been easy to renew with just the two of them but instead they chose wedding party members that have stood with them in marriage over the years. It's a woven thread of gold in their story and deserved to be celebrated. With love and support, their friends and family showed up and showed out. The drinks flowed, the laughter and cheers never stopped and the music kept the dance floor poppin'. The day was in fact all that they could have asked for.

Way back in 1840, Queen Victoria wore a white lace dress to her wedding. After this many brides opted for white dresses in accordance to the queen.
The color white also represents purity, symbolizing both a woman's chastity and her transition to a married matron. It was also associated with Vesta, the virgin goddess of hearth, home and family who was served by temple priestesses garbed in distinctive white clothing.

You ever wonder why we have bridesmaids? Legend has it, originally the brides attendants were all dressed alike to confuse evil spirits. This was to keep the bride from being kidnapped!
Welp! Things have changed. Maybe brides are no longer steal-worthy or maybe all the evil spitits have found a new hobby... either way brides are safe. However, we've kept up the tradition of surrounding the wedding partners with loved ones.
Today the practice is done truly to honor the people in your circle who are committed to doing life with you. Bridesmaids and/or brides men.
Although legend has all the ladies looking the same today we see a huge array of style, color length, and formality. Honestly, whatever is comfortable looks great! You can have your bridesmaids wear all the same color and same dress or same color different dress. Different colors, pant suits, whatever you like best! There is no right or wrong way. We promise no matter what they wear you won't get stolen!

Forgiveness is key!
What the heck are groom's cakes and what do they mean?
The groom's cake is presented as a gift to the groom from the bride. This cake is meant to showcase the bride's knowledge of the groom and the support of his passions! They often are presented with humor and affection and come in the most odd designs (very untraditional style cake compared to the wedding cake).
Think about the bleeding armadillo cake from Steel Magnolias! This is such a fun way to add your personality to your wedding day!

Ever wonder where the term "tying the knot" comes from?
Hand-fasting (tying) is an ancient Celtic ritual symbolizing the binding of two lives in marriage.
Face to face you are given the choice to place your hands together. The person preforming your ceremony wraps all the ropes or ties around your wrists. Once your ropes are in place you gently pull your hands out and an infinity knot is left.
Your knotted ropes represent the union of your marriage.
Hence the term "tying the knot!"
Lets get married on the beach they said- It'll be fun they said.....
And it can be- here's some BTS tips.
1. First things first, Public beaches typically cannot be roped off. "You get what you get and you can't throw a fit" attitude will be needed with the onlooking crowds. In our experience most humans are great about not walking past the middle of a ceremony.
2. A couple of costs to be aware of - You need permits for beach weddings in state parks. Parking cannot be reserved and all guests will need a parking pass.
3. Set up- Think "leg day sand work out" and give your vendors a little more time. Their calves will thank you! Oh and also, sand isn't overly stable so arches and and backdrops may need heavy equipment to set them in place. You'll need to clear that with the DNR
4. Audio -a little strategic planning will go a long way here, the wind and waves are a beautiful sound. The crackling of a mic- not so much. Make sure you hire a audio team that is on top of their game.
5. Guest comfort - we love to see you go the extra mile and provide cold drinks, popsicles, flip flops, parasols/umbrellas or even go for a shade tent.
It can be fun and it will be fun -Promise.
